We’re fond of Nomad Lounge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom due to their consistent delivery of hand-crafted cocktails and adventurous bites! It is a favorite amongst us all here at DFB!
If you need a little refresher, The Nomad Lounge is conveniently located on the pathway towards Pandora. You’ll find it attached to Animal Kingdom’s Signature Restaurant Tiffins. It’s easily accessible from Discovery Island, Africa, and Pandora — but we enjoy it so we’d even make the trek across the park!
We’re making the return once more (not for their delicious wagyu beef sliders — see those here!) to try several new menu items that just dropped! We’re talking Nomad BOWLS and Cider, people!
Before we dig in, we need a drink! Our bartender informed us that they often receive requests for interesting and unique ciders to try. We couldn’t wait to sip on the new Cluver & Jack cider!
Cluver & Jack is imported from South Africa and made with handpicked Granny Smith apples. We found this to be refreshing and light — a great option to pair with some rich app!
Now we’re now ready for the main event! Nomad Lounge has introduced three new bowls — the Chicken Manchurian Nomad Bowl, the Wagyu Beef Nomad Bowl, and the Togarashi-spiced Tuna Nomad Bowl. All three dishes feature, in addition the protein of your choice, Steamed Rice, Red Cabbage Kimchi, Ginger-Scallion Oil, and Crimini Mushroom.
We’ll start with the lightest of the three protein options: the Togarashi-spiced Tuna Nomad Bowl. Priced at $15.00, the tuna was seared nicely and served over a heaping helping of the rice!
This is a solid option. While it is a lighter protein, with all the accompaniments it makes for a fairly substantial meal. Togarashi is a spicy powdered assortment of dried chili peppers and other seasonings used in Japanese cuisine, and it offers a powerful flavor punch.
If poultry is more your thing, order the Chicken Manchurian Nomad Bowl. The least expensive of the bunch, it is priced at $11.00.
With both Indian and Chinese influences, the Manchurian Chicken was not only flavorful but texturally perfect. In the breading, you could taste the ginger garlic paste and red chili powder. This was the clear winner for us!
A close second was the Wagyu Beef Nomad Bowl priced at $18.00. The wagyu was SO tender and flavorful.
The mixture of textures is great. We loved the crunch of those noodles on top! And in all three cases, the Red Cabbage Kimchi added a bright sour note to the bowls.
While we enjoyed all three, the chicken and wagyu options were the clear standouts. All proteins were tender and cooked well. Note, each dish featured a lot of mushrooms, so be aware in case you aren’t much of a fungi fan. In all, these are all solid dishes added to a menu that keeps us coming back for more!

Love how the small plate menu changes so frequently, makes sense so people to come back more often. Love sitting outside right as it turns dark so you hear/see Pandora come to life with sounds and light!

I had planned to try Nomad in December, but now there isn’t much my autistic adult son would enjoy (maybe the churros). The bowls look good, although of course they are not for vegetarians. Tofu would do well with the seasonings they are using on the chicken. That they have interesting ciders sounds like it might be worth it for me anyway, as that’s one adult beverage I like that can be hard to find unless it’s Angry Orchard. Could be good with the bread service.

Do you know if all three proteins are gluten free or just the tuna??? It is hard to tell the way they set up this new part of the menu! 🙂
DFB Sarah says
Brenna, that’s a great question. As far as we know, only the tuna is gluten free. If I find out otherwise (i.e. that they’re ALL GF), I’ll update!
