Put away your pumpkins, everybody!
It’s November 1st, and you know what that means… It’s Christmas time!! And, while we’re super excited for all the holiday merch in Disney World, the sweet aroma of the Gingerbread Castle has us ready for some Christmas cookies!
The Gingerbread Castle has finished baking over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort with a few surprises in store for guests!
Although we’ve seen the progress of the castle recently, we’re more than excited for the 10th anniversary of the castle, which is a dedication to Mary Blair — one of the key Disney Imagineers and the artist behind much of “it’s a small world.”
The castle took a gingerbread army of 39 Contemporary bakers to create the gorgeous piece, featuring shingles, peppermint swirls, and even 10 hidden symbols from Frozen, “it’s a small world”, and 9 hidden Mickeys!
You can spot Elsa and Anna…
…Olaf…
…“it’s a small world” dolls, and some gingerbread Mickey heads worked into the castle’s design!
Cinderella’s glass slipper has been ceremoniously placed in front of the cookie Cinderella castle and its adorable Cinderella, Prince Charming, and Fairy Godmother cut-outs.
You can find the Gingerbread Castle lighting up the holidays on the 4th floor of the Contemporary Resort this holiday season!
The location also features a cookie stand with a selection of treats, drinks, and souvenirs available for purchase. We’ll be sharing our full review of the cookie stand soon!

Jenn says
Excellent news. Is the Beach Club’s display and store up as well?
DFB Sarah says
Jenn, we haven’t see it go up yet! Last year it was mid-November.
Ruth says
Do you know when the gingerbread house displays are taken down? We are going to be in Disney World starting Jan 12th. It would be wonderful if we could see the gingerbread displays then even though it’s after Christmas then. Thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Ruth, January 12 might be a little late, but it’s not out of the question! We’ll update when they start coming down, so you’ll be able to plan when that time gets closer.
Laura J Leonard says
I echo a previous comment. If we come befire Dec. 30 can we see the house(s)?
DFB Sarah says
Laura, the gingerbread house is typically up into early-January.
