Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Epcot!
And, we’ve got LOTS of construction, merchandise, food, and entertainment to share with you! So, let’s dive right on in!
Future World
Future World Construction Update
While we’ve already been able to travel throughout the galaxy on Rise of the Resistance, we can’t WAIT to blast off into the cosmos on the new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster!
Although the ride won’t be open until 2021 for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, there’s still plenty of progress happening on the ride. Until then, we’ll be listening to our Awesome Mixes in anticipation!
Speaking of the Final Frontier, Space 220 is in the finishing stages of construction!
Although the restaurant has been slated to transport guests to the Centauri Space Station during the winter of this year, its opening date looks like it will near the END of winter — February of 2020. While we are definitely excited to travel all the way to space and back, we’ll just have to wait a lil bit longer to do so!
Hmm… There’s a something interesting going down in Future World. We spotted festival style merchandise booths popping up around Journey into Imagination…
…and near the Flavored Popcorn Carts! While we aren’t sure what these booths will be selling just yet, we kinda hope some of the Stitch Sour Gummies will be available! 😉
Want to see something totally AWESOME?? The “Awesome Planet” sign is officially out (and looking pretty spiffy) in The Land!
The nature-based film will take guests on a journey around the world to see the beauty of the planet through an inspiring story. And, we’ll get to watch it super soon ’cause the film will premiere January 17th, 2020!
Check out everything you need to know about “Awesome Planet” here!
Future World Food Update
Guess who’s back? Back again? Popcorn’s back, tell a friend!!
The Gourmet Flavored Popcorn Cart has returned from the Epcot Experience so we can get our snack on in it’s original Future World spot again.
You can snack on the Cheddar Cheese, Buffalo Bleu Cheese, and Sour Cream and Chive popcorn flavors, or use our DFB hack…
…and mix them all together! (One of the best savory snacks around!)
Check out all the deets on the Gourmet Flavored Popcorn Cart here!
Future World Merchandise Update
We’re less than TWO WEEKS away from the start of 2020, you guys! And, we’re ready to start writing our New Year’s Resolutions with the 2020 Pens Pack at the Camera Center for $17.99. You can write a different resolution with each character from the gang…
…AND put them in lots of bright colors with the 2020 Ink Color Changing Pen too!
The pen features a Mickey head (with his adorable smile obvi)…
…and a whole rainbow of ink options for $12.99! What will your first resolution be for 2020??
It’s time to throw things back from 2020 all the way to the 50’s, everybody! The Retro Houseware Collection has made its way to Mouse Gear, along with the vintage Minnie cherry pie items! You can sip on a nice cup of hot cocoa in the Keen and Cute Mugs for $27.99…
…before snacking on your own slice of homemade pie with the Back in the Day Plates!
The set of four plates come in blue, pink, red, and green, each with a different old-fashioned design of Mickey and Minnie for $34.99. We think these would be perfect for your Christmas parties this year!!
Check out the adorable Retro Houseware Collection here!
It’s time to thank the Phoenicians (again) ’cause the Spaceship Earth Onesie is looking grand and miraculous at Mouse Gear too!
The pink, silver, and blue onesie looks like the Bubblegum Wall right outside the exit of the attraction. And, we think it would be pretty cool if you picked up the onesie for $69.99 to snap an Insta photo in front of the matching wall!
Check out all the details on the Spaceship Earth Onesie here!
World Showcase
World Showcase Construction Update
The new restrooms between Future World and the World Showcase are almost done, but not quite yet. While we’re still waiting for the finishing touches and the walls to go down around the restroom building…
…we’re also waiting for the arrival of the CONFIRMED Starbucks location! After Fountain View was taken down for the big Epcot Transformation, we’ve been missing our daily ‘bucks in the parks. So, we’re VERY excited to grab a drink (or two) at the new location soon!!
Let’s get patriotic, you guys!! Regal Eagle Smokehouse is supposed to open by the end of the year…
…but it looks like there’s still some construction going on! Sooo, we’ll just keep checking back to see if we’ll get to snack on Smoked Impossible and Quinoa Terrine any time soon.
Check out our review of the food coming to Regal Eagle here!
World Showcase Food Update
Of course, it’s not a trip to the World Showcase if you don’t stop by Les Halles for some baked goodies and pastries! While we were there, we spotted that the bakery was using the old packaging on macarons…
…instead of the new flower-like packaging that we LOVE! This change could possibly be in the bakery because there’s a shortage on supplies, but the Cast Member we asked wasn’t totally sure!
World Showcase Entertainment Update
While the Gingerbread Display has been baked up at the American Adventure Pavilion, there’s also a brand new Art of Disney store inside too!
The store features beautiful artwork from various Disney films, collectible statuettes…
…and an artist on-site, available to doodle up a sketch for you to purchase! (Just look at him go!!)
While you’re visiting Art of Disney, be sure to check out the very first Disney artist of them all — Walt himself!
You can also spot vintage Disney collectibles on the shelves…
…and even a few old school fairytale and animation books! Um, talk about a blast from the past!!
You can see EVERYTHING inside the Art of Disney store here!
Well, that’s all for this What’s New at Epcot! We’ll catch you next time with more food, merchandise, construction, and entertainment updates! In the meantime, we’ll be snacking on some of these Chengdu Street Fries. Still SO GOOD. 😉

This is my first comment ever and it’s about the popcorn! I am thrilled it’s back! We love the sour cream and chive so much! We have been to Disney twice and this simple snack was our favorite! It was cold and rainy when we made it over there and we did your trick of ordering the mix of the three flavors and it just hit the spot!
