In recent days, we’ve seen Disney World and Disneyland enforce stricter cleaning schedules and implement several new initiatives to protect guests and Cast Members from the Coronavirus.
Yesterday, we noticed Disney World had added several portable hand washing stations throughout the parks, and today we learned several updates have been made to the My Disney Experience app to help guests stay informed and take extra precautions against the spread of Coronavirus.
Opening the My Disney Experience App (or the Disneyland app) on your portable electronic device, you can access these new features by tapping on the search tool (which appears as a magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen) and entering in “Coronavirus” or “Hand Sanitizer Locations” into the search bar. You’ll be taken to this screen which provides guests with information regarding the Coronavirus as well as a Hand Sanitizer Locator feature.
The My Disney Experience app shows each Disney World park’s First Aid center has information regarding the Coronavirus available for guests to learn more about the infection.
The app is also now enabled to direct guests to the nearest hand sanitizing station.
These locations, which will provide free hand sanitizer to guests, can be found at the parks’ First Aid and Baby Care centers, as well as throughout the Disney World resorts, restaurants, and other recreational and entertainment venues including the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Disney Springs. Disney is also taking the same precautions in Disneyland, and there are multiple hand sanitizer locations around those parks and resorts, too.
While you can always as a nearby Cast Member where the nearest hand sanitizer location is, this new feature will prove to be especially useful.
The My Disney Experience app and the Disneyland app will even give you turn-by-turn directions in the park to the nearest hand sanitizer location when you enable location services.
You can also view a map of the hand sanitizer locations using the app. Note: at this time the portable hand washing stations we spotted yesterday at the parks have yet to appear in this new feature, so there are additional locations in the park to sanitize your hands that may not show up in the app.
Disney World and Disneyland also have several restrooms for hand washing as well which you can locate within each location’s app.

I hope Disney leaves the hand sanitizers, etc., up after the parks reopen. Germs are everywhere.

This has made my day! We have the same hand sanitizers in our office in the UK so now, every time I use one, I will think of Disney 🙂 – Am counting down to our next visit
