Disney World
You Can Win a Trip to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Did you know that you can win a trip to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge through Omaze?! If you’ve never heard of Omaze, it’s an online fundraising platform that offers campaigns and prizes in support of charitable causes. So you’ll have the opportunity to donate money to the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation while entering for the chance to win a Walt Disney World trip and a private Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge tour for four.
The more you give, the more chance you have to win! The deadline for entering is April 14, 2020 at 11:59 PM PT and the winner will be announced on or around April 29, 2020!

Disney Is Only Accepting Reservations After June 1
You may have heard that Disney World has extended its closure until further notice. While we don’t have any official word from Disney, reservations can only be made for dates June 1st and later.
The site states, “For Guests who are interested in modifying their existing travel dates or making a new reservation for a future vacation, reservations are currently available for travel dates June 1 and later. As always, Guests are able to modify these bookings if Walt Disney World Resort opens before or after that time.”

Guests With Cancelled Reservations Can Recieve A Free Dining Offer
If your Disney World vacation was canceled due to the park closures, you may be able to take advantage of a free dining offer. According to Disney World’s website, the new vacation package includes accommodations at a select Disney Resort hotel, park admission, and a Disney dining plan!
The Dining Plan will be determined based on which level of Resort you stay in. Guests staying at select Disney Value Resorts or Moderate Resorts will receive the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan. Guests staying at select Disney Deluxe Resorts or Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts will receive the standard Disney Dining Plan.
You must book your reservation before the end of May and it is only available to those that were directly affected by the closure. You can book an arrival date for most dates from June 1st through September 30th, 2020. You can call (407) 939 -4251 for more information.

Disney Shares Some Fun Park News
Although the parks are closed, Disney has also shared some news from inside the parks. Disney allowed us to check on our favorite furry Animal Kingdom friends through Disney NOW.
Disney Animals takes us behind-the-scenes through a series of educational and fun videos! You’ll find footage of all sorts of animals, and the videos also feature the Cast Members who care for these animals on a daily basis.

Disney has shared MORE magical in-park news. The President of Walt Disney World Resort, Josh D’Amaro, shared on his Instagram @joshdamaro that Disney World Security Cast Members are still raising and lowering the American flag every day.
D’Amaro also shared these words of encouragement, “It’s a symbol that we’re still here and will not falter. I hope this inspires you as well. We will be back. Thanks to all our incredible Cast Members who continue to maintain the magic until that day. Until then, please take care of yourselves and your families. We will see you soon.”

Disneyland
Now, let’s take a look at a few things that have been announced for Disneyland Resort.
Guests With Cancelled Reservations Can Recieve A Special Room Offer
Disneyland Resort also released a new special offer exclusively for guests who were impacted by the park closures! Eligible guests include those who had booked a Walt Disney Vacation Travel Company package to stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel during the park closures and through May 31st.
You can now book a special Disneyland Resort offer for most arrival dates from June 1st through December 31st, 2020. When speaking with a Cast Member, we were informed that the offer will apply to weekdays, Sunday through Thursday.
Eligible guests will receive up to 10% off at Paradise Pier for a Premium Room. Guests booking at the Disneyland Hotel or Grand Californian Hotel can receive 15% off a standard room or 20% off a premium room!
You will need to book this offer by May 31st, 2020 and can do so by calling (714) 520-5050.

You Can Watch Disneyland Parades From Home
Disney also shared some more magical info! Did you know that you can actually watch Disneyland’s new Magic Happens parade from home? Well, ya can by simply clicking here!
Disneyland had JUST debuted the parade prior to the closure, so it’s nice guests unable to be there in person can still experience this fun new parade from home!

Disney Cruise Line
More Disney Cruise Line Departures Have Been Cancelled
On March 14th, Disney Cruise Line decided to halt all departures until April 12th.
But due to recent events, but today we’ve just seen their timeframe extended. Disney Cruise Line has extended those cancellations through April 28th.

Company News
Disney Executives Take Hefty Pay Cuts
The Walt Disney Company’s CEO Bob Chapek and former CEO Bob Iger have announced they’ll be taking a large reduction in salary. In a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney executive chairman Bob Iger is forgoing his entire salary while current Disney CEO Bob Chapek will be taking a 50% salary reduction.
Other Disney Executives are taking pay cuts as well to help during this difficult time.

Disney Donates Masks And Other Materials
This week, Disney donated 150,000 rain ponchos and over 100,000 N95 face masks to New York, California, and Florida.
These donations went to MedShare, a humanitarian aid organization that can distribute them to hospitals in need.
