Last weekend, Disney World announced a private free dining offer for guests whose booked trips were impacted by the recent closure of the parks.

Disney’s original language left many guests who had upcoming trips planned for next month waiting to see if they’d be eligible. If you’re one of the folks who’s been in limbo, we’ve got some exciting news for YOU!
One of our readers (thanks, @rachyoung55!) just pointed out to us the language has changed in Disney World’s private offer notation on the website.
Disney has now extended to offer to all eligible guests who had previously purchased Theme Park tickets and accommodations from March 16th through May 31st!

As you can see, Disney has changed the language from “affected by closures” to essentially “anyone with these dates!” If you were waiting to see (or thought you had to wait) until a week before your arrival date to get an eligibility email from Disney World, you can now move forward with canceling and rebooking your Disney World trip!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Your Dining Plan will be determined based off of which level of Resort you choose. Guests staying at select Disney Value Resorts or Moderate Resorts will receive the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan. Guests staying at select Disney Deluxe Resorts or Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts will receive the standard Disney Dining Plan.

The offer is only valid on new reservations booked BEFORE May 31st, and is only available to guests whose reservations were directly affected by the closure. Eligible guests can book an arrival date for most dates from June 1st through September 30th, 2020 — as long as you book through May 31st, 2020.
You can call (407) 939 -4251 or your travel professional to learn more! It is likely that guests who are eligible will receive communication from Disney directly; but if you’ve got a trip scheduled during those dates, you are eligible!

The best part? This means you won’t miss out on potential FastPasses and advance dining reservations that might have been already booked up if you’d had to wait longer to find out your eligibility status!
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
We think this offer is also another potential sign that Disney is relying heavily on June 1st being their earliest potential opening date. At this time, Disney World isn’t allowing any new bookings, dining reservations, or FastPasses to be made until June 1st.

I am an annual pass holder and had a reservation for May 2-7. Have reservations for November 22-27 but this free dining won’t help me. Why the date of September 30?
Does this only apply to bookings made direct with Disney or would we still be eligible having booked through a ta?
I read earlier that this Free Dining offer was only for guests who had already booked a package with Disney that included dining and park tickets during those dates who will now have to cancel. We had reservations for early May too, but it was for a room only and we have since switched our reservation to later in the year. Can somebody verify if this offer would include guest who had reservations for the A/P offer for a “room only“ discount, or is it only for guests who already had a package with tickets and dining booked that they had to cancel? Also, how does this new offer help A/P’s? We already have our tickets so why would we buy a package that we would have to pay for tickets? Even with the free dining there’s no advantage in it for us.
