My Disney Experience is indispensable when we’re in Disney World. And even though we can’t be in the parks at this moment, Disney is making sure we can still use MDE at home!
We’ve noticed quite a few updates to the app in recent weeks. Here are some fun NEW ways you can use the app, even when you’re stuck at home!
Now You’re Cooking
No surprise here, one of the updates we’re the most excited about is entirely food-related! Now You’re Cooking is an EASY step-by-step guide to recreating some Disney recipes from home!
Their first recipe is none other than a frozen pineapple treat! Hopefully, we see even more easy recipes come to My Disney Experience in the future!
Looking for even more Disney recipes to make at home? Here are some ideas!
Artist Studio
Do you have a kiddo attending art class from home? Or maybe you’re looking to pick up new skills while you’re stuck at home? Look no further: My Disney Experience launched the Disney Parks Artist Studio.
In just five simple steps, you’ll be able to draw the iconic face of the one and only Mickey Mouse!
Learn how to draw TONS of Disney characters here!
Play From Home
Looking to test your Disney Parks knowledge? Play Disney Parks is hosting fun and engaging “Play From Home” trivia! You can log in via My Disney Experience, where you’ll then be redirected to the Play Disney Parks app.
One of the newer features is a fun Adventureland quiz! When we took the quiz, we got questions on the Enchanted Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean (the ride AND the film), and Jungle Cruise!
We would love to see even more trivia added in the future! This would be a fun way to have a trivia night with your family at home!
Speaking of trivia, check out these Disney board games to play at home!
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
When the parks reopen, we have a full list of to-do’s. In fact, there are ten new things we can’t wait to do when the parks reopen! One of those things at the top of our list is to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure!
Disney must be as excited as we are for this new dark ride to open, since the new area it will call home was added to the Epcot map on My Disney Experience!
While nothing is labeled yet, it gives us a glimpse into what the new expansion of the France Pavilion will look like (at least from the Skyliner’s birds-eye perspective!).
While we aren’t sure when Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will open exactly, we can’t wait to check it out!
Read up here on everything you need to know about Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure before it opens this summer!
Park Hours Updated
As of this writing, the parks remain closed until further notice. While we don’t know Disneys reopening date quite yet, My Disney Experience gives us a couple of clues. Right now, the app lists the parks as “Closed” through May 2, 2020.
This does NOT mean Disney World is reopening on May 3! It looks as though this is just as far out as the app has been updated thus far. But we will continue to keep an eye on this feature on My Disney Experience as more updates come in!

Closure Announcement
Similar to the park hours, My Disney Experience is a good resource to check in with if you’re looking for the most up-to-date information straight from Disney. When you log on to MDE, one of the first notifications you’ll see is their temporary closure statement, which if you tap on will bring you to their website.
As always, we will be keeping our eye on any developments when it comes to Disney World’s temporary closure!
