Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge carries the atmosphere of America’s great National Park Lodges — places where tall trees, fresh earth, clear lakes, and campfires are the backdrop for incredible vacations and explorations. And some quintessential eats at places like this are, of course, S’mores!!
For those who aren’t sure what S’mores are, they’re a campfire dessert made by smooshing a roasted marshmallow with a piece of chocolate (Hershey’s is standard) between two graham crackers. Sounds pedestrian, but it really is a very rich and satisfying dessert! The name? Just imagine kids saying, “May I have s’more?” after getting their first taste!
Wilderness Lodge offers two versions of S’mores in its restaurants: the S’mores cupcake at Roaring Fork, and the S’mores cheesecake at Whispering Canyon Cafe!
S’mores Cupcake
Over at Roaring Fork, Wilderness Lodge has introduced one of the most well-done S’mores cupcakes I’ve ever seen.
Usually, S’mores cupcakes use fully formed marshmallows, but I love that this version tops off with melted, gooey, browned marshmallow on top!
You’ll also find a graham cracker-flavored cake underneath the marshmallow topping. But where’s the chocolate? Two places! Inside the cake are hidden a couple of pieces of Hershey’s chocolate. There’s also a piece of Hershey’s chocolate plopped onto the top of the Marshmallow.
This dessert is amazing. I’m not a huge fan of marshmallow sauces, but this gooey marshmallow topping feels and tastes just like roasted marshmallow, and the graham cracker cake is a very interesting and unique touch. Delicious.
S’mores Cheesecake
This flavor-packed dessert has been on the menu at Whispering Canyon Cafe for years!
Graham cracker crust is topped with dense, sweet cheesecake. Another layer of crust tops this, then chocolate ganache is spread all over the cake. Finally, marshmallows make up the top texture.
This one is not usually available via take-out, but you can always ask!
Other S’mores Options
There are plenty of other spots to find S’more-ific things in Disney World. S’mores-themed desserts can be found at Trail’s End, 50’s Prime Time Cafe, Le Cellier Steakhouse, and more!
Don’t forget to check out the S’mores roasting at the Movies on the Beach at many Disney resorts — and at the Campfire and Sing-a-Long at Fort Wilderness!
Chocolate covered pre-made (and relatively shelf-stable) S’mores can also be found at the Main Street Confectionery and other candy stores around Disney World.

I love s’mores. The cheesecake looks really good.

S’mores…what a strange idea…but sound delightfully gooey! The cupcake looks adorable, I spent many a happy meal time in Roaring Forks last year 🙂
Savorique says
The S’mores Cupcake looks/sounds great but I’m not crazy about the probably very sweet hershey’s chocolate. I’d expect the sweetness of the cupcake to be balanced with some bittersweet chocolate.

We’ve made reservations at Whispering Canyon just for the s’mores! I love the s’mores at 50’s Prime Time!
AJ says
Jo Ann — I do, too! They’re such a fun, nostalgic dessert!
Emma — Next year we’ll have to add to our schedule making smores at one of the deluxe resort beach campfires!
Savorique — Great idea!
Sarah — I’m glad to hear a good review of the s’mores at Prime Time! I haven’t had them yet.

I tried the smores cupcake this past May at my stay at WL. The previous two trips I skipped on it .. glad I did. =/ I am a smore connoisseur so for me to not like it .. was bad! However, to be fair I think my lunch was an off day for Roaring Forks anyway because the rest of my food was so-so that day and it NEVER is like that. Also to be fair, I wished there was more chocolate too.
I can’t wait to try the cheesecake though .. that’s where my heart & tummy are!
Heather says
Such a great dessert! I love the s’mores at 50’s! I’ll have to try these options next time we stay at WL!
Courtney says
I love smores – but usually can’t have them, because i’m a vegetarian!
That cupcake looks amazing!! Is the ‘frosting’ made up of marshmallow fluff, you think? If so, it is gelatin-free, and I could have it! YUM!

There is also a different s’mores cupcake at the Boardwalk Bakery – chocolate cake with a graham cracker rim and a marshmallowy frosting.
Lenore says
Oh that cupcake looks DELICIOUS. I’m tempted to try to make one similar at home, but I don’t think it will be the same. Looks like a trip to the Wilderness Lodge is in order…
Cleo says
I’m surprised that a Disney cupcake didn’t have a chocolate buttercream filling to offset the graham cracker cake since the frosting is just the meringue.
AJ says
Cleo — Nope! Just hershey candy bar pieces!! But great idea on the chocolate buttercream frosting… yum..
