Throughout the ongoing global health situation, we have been following the impact of sailings of the Disney Cruise Line ships in addition to the temporary closures of Disney Parks around the world.
As of last week, Disney Cruise Line has cancelled sailings into June and July for Disney’s fleet of four ships. These cancellations are made to promote guest and crew safety and also made in light of the CDC’s current “No Sail Order” for cruise ships. However, looking forward, we are starting to learn about other cruise lines and their plans to return to sailing in the future.
For instance, Carnival Cruise Line has announced plans to resume cruising of some select sailings beginning August 1, 2020. (Carnival Cruise Line has currently extended their cancelled sailings through July.)
Sailings from Florida’s Port Canaveral and PortMiami are reflected in the plans. Included among the eight ships (of Carnival’s 27) scheduled to return to sailing are the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Elation out of Port Canaveral.
Additionally, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Magic and Carnival Sensation will sail from PortMiami, and the Carnival Dream, Carnival Freedom, and Carnival Vista will sail from Galveston, Texas. Note that in Carnival’s announcement it also states that the “pause in operations will be extended in all other North American and Australian markets through August 31.”
