Disney Springs began its phased reopening on Wednesday, May 20th, and we have been reporting from Walt Disney World’s shopping and dining district throughout the week.
We have been observing and experiencing the new safety measures now implemented for guests visiting Disney Springs. Additionally, we’ve been stopping by all of the restaurants and shops that are currently in operation, which — at the moment — are third-party vendors. (Select Disney-owned locations will begin reopening on May 27th.) And one of the things we have been on the lookout for are face masks available for purchase.
Remember, you cannot enter Disney Springs without a face mask, as they are required for all guests and cast members and must remain on throughout the entirety of your stay. However, it is good to know where you may find some additional ones available should an elastic break on your current mask, or you would just prefer another to have more options for comfort.
On Wednesday (the first day of the reopening), we only found face masks for sale at one retail location: Vera Bradley.
However, today we spotted them at two more locations. The first is American Threads, a retail location in the Town Center of Disney Springs.
The breathable, light weight masks are available in lavender, black and grey (which are reversible between solid grey and grey-with-white-stripes).
The GILLI brand masks are priced at $15.00, and additional features are that they are re-washable and quick-drying, and the packaging states they offer UV Protection.
They are also selling out very quickly, but we were informed there are more on order! (They are even considering ordering ones with straw holes.)
Beyond the masks available, other differences to note in American Threads are that no cash is currently accepted, and fitting rooms are unavailable (though they do have a return policy for items with tags within 14 days).
The other location we spotted masks available for purchase is The Polite Pig in the Marketplace.
We recognized the masks with the restaurant’s logo from our very first visit back to The Polite Pig.
Available for $12.50, they’re the same ones that The Polite Pig cast members wear during their shifts.
So, there you have it — these are the current three spots where we have found face coverings available in Disney Springs. Keep in mind, though, that the World of Disney is one of the locations that will be opening on May 27th, and while we don’t know whether they’ll have face masks for purchase, we will certainly be on the lookout and keeping you posted!
