Now that Universal Studios has reopened its doors and other theme parks are gearing up to reopen soon (including Disney World!), guests are gonna need a lift to get to Florida!

And Virgin Atlantic has just announced they’ll be resuming international flights to Orlando along with several other U.S. destinations.
According to Virgin Atlantic’s Twitter account @VirginAtlantic, flights from London’s Heathrow Airport will be able to transport folks from the U.K. to Orlando as well as New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Shanghai starting July 20th.

Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will reopen July 11th while Epcot and Hollywood Studios will reopen on July 15th, so Virgin Atlantic’s Orlando flights should resume just a few days after the parks reopen.

New Virgin Atlantic Health and Safety Measures
Virgin Atlantic says new health and safety measures will be in place including limiting the number of guests checking in at one time, reducing the number of security lanes, and placing social distancing markers in queue areas. Meticulous cleaning will be conducted in all common areas including counters, self-service kiosks, and aircraft.

Virgin Atlantic will be conducting health screenings including temperature checks of its passengers and leaving empty seats between parties whenever possible. They’ll also be revising their food and drink service and masks will be required at all times while onboard. Virgin Airlines will be supplying each passenger with a “Health Pack” equipped with medical-grade masks, surface wipes, and hand gel.

This is great news for us UK residents, we are due to come to Disney in November from Manchester so hoping that they will start flying from there soon as well
Honestly we have been dreading this news ( Adults and teenagers). There is no chance I will be flying or going to Disney in the current state. This isn’t a holiday and I certainly wouldn’t put my children though these safely measured when we can simply stay safe at home.
I’ll skip this year and sulk 🙂 hopefully it will be safer next year.

Hopefully this will mean that those of us who have had trips cancelled this year may see a refund soon. I’ve been waiting for over two months and some people even longer. It’s a disgrace.
In all honesty, I’m not sure I would go at the moment anyway with all of the changes and restrictions. I’ll just wait it out and go in a year or two.
Will Trump have opened US borders to UK visitors by this time? If FCO still advise against nonessential international travel then insurance will be voided. Additionally, it’s an awful lot of money to spend on an experience that will be compromised despite Disney’s greatest efforts. We were meant to be travelling on 27th July and have requested (twice) to move our holiday to 2021 but are yet to hear back.
Seems silly restarting the flights when UK residents may not even be allowed entry into the US by then😩

Virgin holidays are a disgrace they have cut off all communication with customers you CANNOT get to speak to anyone
What about flights to Antigua at the end of August
Coming from UK won’t be the problem, going back will be, with the mandatory 14 day quarantine to enter the UK starting June 8.
We are due to travel September and would like to move to next year but cannot get to speak to virgin it’s a disgrace. After traveling with them many times I think this is my last also the prices are way out our price range for next year and after looking at tui you can save a lot of money Virgin need to look at customer service very poor x
