Just moments ago, we shared with you a few new details regarding NBA players being able to invite friends and family to Disney World after they advance through round one.
And now we’ve just learned which Disney World resort hotels the teams will be calling home sweet home while they finish their 2020 season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex!
NBA analyst Shams Chariana has just posted on Twitter the NBA teams were able to pick which Disney World resort hotel would host them based on their seeding.
Sources: NBA teams Disney hotels based on seeding:
-Grand Destino: Bucks, Lakers, Raptors, Clippers, Celtics, Nuggets, Jazz, Heat
-Grand Floridian: Thunder, 76ers, Rockets, Pacers, Mavericks, Nets, Grizzlies, Magic
-Yacht Club: Blazers, Kings, Pelicans, Spurs, Suns, Wizards— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) June 16, 2020
It looks like the Bucks, Lakers, Raptors, Clippers, Nuggets, Jazz, and Heat will stay at the swanky digs of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort’s new Gran Destino Tower which just opened last year.
We had a feeling this Disney World resort would be a contender since it boasts so many business-level amenities even though it’s technically considered a moderate resort! It’s also very close to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex which will make for a quick commute!

Meanwhile Thunder, 76ers, Rockets, Pacers, Mavericks, Nets, Grizzlies, and Magic are expected to stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
The Grand Floridan Resort is a deluxe resort and one of the posh-est hotels on Disney World’s properties.
And finally, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will be taking in the Blazers, Kings, Pelicans, Spurs, Suns, and Wizards!
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is also a deluxe hotel at Disney World and shares one of the nicest resort pools on property with its neighbor, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, although Stormalong Bay won’t be open during the initial reopening period.
Charania also shared a few details about some of the new NBA-level amenities the players will be enjoying during their Disney World stay including a players-only lounge, 24-hour concierge service, and lots of entertainment offerings including ping pong and even yard games. And even though players won’t be permitted to play around at the theme parks, they will be allowed to attend other teams’ games.
In NBA’s ORL campus:
– Hotel amenities: players-only lounge (NBA 2K, TVs, gaming), pool/trails, barbers, manicurists, pedicurists
– 24-hour VIP concierge
– Daily entertainment: Movie screenings, DJ sets, video games, ping pong, pool, lawn games
– Players can attend other games— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) June 16, 2020
We also learned Disney chefs will be preparing daily meals for the NBA athletes and there will also be a special room service option for them. Teams can bring up to a 35-person traveling party with them to Disney World when the NBA season starts back up on July 31st.
Sources: NBA teams have been informed of required positions for 35-person traveling party: athletic trainer; strength/conditioning coach; equipment manager; team security official.
Each team can include a player’s private personal trainer, massage therapist, or security.

Carl says
That’s interesting they would choose Grand Floridian considering its DVC villas will be one of the resorts open to the public for the time being. I thought players were supposed to get their own separate resorts basically.
Jackie says
So Stormalong Bay is closed to DVC Members. What garbage! I called it. And they lied in writing to me.
Cookie Wright says
Thirty five person traveling party? Seems a bit excessive. And sure takes up a lot of rooms that will keep away other people wanting to go to Disney. Also says players will not be allowed to “play around” in the theme parks. Does that include family members in their traveling party? There will be a lot of unhappy APs and other Disney fans if the NBA families take up reservation spots getting into the parks.
Jackie says
@Cookie Wright
Thank. You. So many issues with this. Paying guests getting bumped. DVC members getting bumped. AP holders getting bumped. Money talks, just not ours.
Thom michaels says
What does the MSL get?
DFB Sarah says
Thom, no word on this.
Jackie says
@Thom MSL TECHNICALLY not in Disney Property. Those are a separate corporation.
Cat says
There are rumors going around that the NBA will have access to SAB…I have had a BCV room reserved for a while for the start of August and now I am not sure what to do. I will cringe if I see the NBA using a pool when I cannot.
DFB Sarah says
Cat, I don’t believe we’ve seen confirmation of this, but I can understand that might be troublesome for guests of BCV.
Tired says
I know that I don’t want to be anywhere near those self proclaimed demi gods
