Disney has just released a BUNCH of details regarding the new required theme park reservation system for guests visiting Walt Disney World when the Resort reopens, including its official NAME!
We now know it’s officially called the Disney Park Pass System — and it will be going live in just a few days! But while we’re relieved to finally know WHEN and HOW we’ll be able to book our Disney World theme park visits again (with more information coming soon!), we were bummed to learn that guests will only be allowed to visit one park per day upon the reopening of the theme parks, according to information which Disney has just released.
Per Disney, “At this time, Guests will be able to select one park per day; visiting more than one park per day will be temporarily unavailable upon the reopening of the theme parks due to attendance limitations.”
That means no Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus (the add-on ticket options that allow guests to visit multiple parks each day) until further notice.
Disney also notifies that guests who currently have tickets that include Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus have ticket modification options available, and the information shared on these three options below comes from the Walt Disney World website.
Options For Guests Who Currently Have Tickets That Include Park Hopper
Ticket Extension
Guests with Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus may opt for a Ticket Extension, and may use their current date-based ticket by September 26, 2021 with the existing add-on options (if the options return by that date).
Ticket Modification
Under Ticket Modification, “Resort Packages with tickets may be modified or cancelled.” Disney advises that guests contact the Disney Reservation Center at (407) W-DISNEY or (407) 934-7639 starting June 22nd (or contact your travel professional).
Ticket Cancellation
If you do not wish to use your ticket, you may opt to cancel your ticket or package. Disney advises that guests contact the Disney Reservation Center at (407) 566-4985 starting June 22nd (or contact your travel professional).
Disney also states that “We hope to bring back the ability to visit more than one park per day soon and will continue to offer these add-ons for 2021 ticket purchases.”
We will continue to keep you posted on the developments surrounding Walt Disney World theme park tickets and the new Disney Park Pass System as they are revealed! To find out more information about the reopening of Walt Disney World Resort, you may visit any of the links below.

Deb says
So Sad….Hope it changes quickly
Shayne says
So, if we have already bought park hoppers and plan to visit next month, we need to call next week and request a modification? I’m assuming that will change my ticket to a one park per day ticket and entitle me to a refund of the difference? I wish they would explain things a little more clearly!
DFB Sarah says
Shayne, I’m with you on the clarity issue. Apologies for the lengthy response, but here’s all of the official language from Disney:
At this time, Guests will only be able to visit one park per day. If you have a ticket that includes the Park Hopper Option or Park Hopper Plus Option, we have several options available to you:
Ticket Extension: You may use your current date-based ticket by September 26, 2021 with the existing add-on options, should the options return by that date.
Ticket Modification: Resort Packages with tickets may be modified or cancelled. To discuss your options, please call the Disney Reservation Center at (407) W-DISNEY or (407) 934-7639 beginning June 22, or contact your travel professional.
Ticket Cancellation: If you do not want to use your ticket, you also have the option of cancelling your ticket or package. To discuss your options, please call the Disney Reservation Center at (407) 566-4985 beginning June 22, or contact your travel professional.
Stephanie says
We are due to travel in November 2020 ,I hope it is relaxed a little by then that we can go to another park the same day
Chris Senatra says
Do the water parks count as a park? I know they are not opened yet but we are going in November. Are they talking about the 4 main theme parks?
DFB Sarah says
Chris, so far we seem to be talking only about the theme parks, not the water parks. If/when that changes, we will update!
DFB Sarah says
Stephanie, we’ll keep updating as the situation evolves!
Melissa says
Is there ant news on whether you will be able to leave a park and return later in the same day?
Rachel says
We are hoping to visit at the end of September, but it’s uncertain at the moment if we will be able to fly as we will in the UK.
Do you know if you will be able to exit and re-enter the park you are booked into? Or if it will mean once you have left for the day you won’t be able to return?
DFB Sarah says
Rachel, we do not have this answer officially from Disney. We expect you’ll be able to leave and return to the same Park on the same day, but that’s still up in the air. Hopefully we will learn more tomorrow when the system goes live.
DFB Sarah says
Melissa, not yet!
Cassidy says
Finally got through right before phone lines closed last night only to be told they actually couldn’t do anything with my ticket! Wondering if anyone else got a different response. We were hoping to modify our ticket
Nichelle Hodge says
Except when you call that # for modification, you just get a busy tone….lol! Still trying to get through!!!
Shayne says
Me too, Nichelle. Can’t get through to DVC either.
Kristin says
Could you leave the park that you have a reservation for then go back in the same park later? I haven’t seen that question addressed anywhere.
Ali says
I have been trying that number to cancel/refund my 6 day Park Hopper since Monday and it’s always, “all circuits are busy, please try again.” It’s been like that for 3 days. Are there other numbers to try? I’ve tried 407WDISNEY, same issue. Thank you
DFB Sarah says
Kristin, we have been told by Disney that you WILL be able to do that. I have not seen them publish that info anywhere yet.
DFB Sarah says
Ali, the number our readers are saying they can get in on best is the HelpDesk (with a wait). Otherwise, I think the lines are getting jammed, so it’s keep trying or keep waiting, unfortunately. The chat function on DisneyWorld.com sometimes proves faster than a phone wait. Good luck!
Becky says
This may have already been discussed but…I have eight day hopper for August. If hopping is not allowed by then , can I get a refund on the hopper portion of my ticket when I get to Disney?
DFB Sarah says
Becky, here’s what Disney says about Park Hoppers: At this time, Guests will only be able to visit one park per day.
Rick says
My wife made multiple (2) park passes on Saturday on the computer. We are staying on site and have a pass for Epcot and she added one for Animal Kingdom. Might have been a glitch, who knows?
DFB Sarah says
Rick, have fun!
Dawn Tepper says
Will you be able to use park hopper and fast pass in March of 2021.
DFB Sarah says
Dawn, Disney announced resumption of the Park Hopper, but when they do, we will report on it.
Warren B says
What about us Annual Passholders? That’s a big reason my wife and I have our passes.
DFB Sarah says
Warren, even Passholders can’t Park Hop. They still need to get Disney Park Passes, and those only allow one Park per day.
