Disney has certainly dumped a LOT of information on us in the past few days.
And with information comes questions! We’re looking for clarification on everything from the new Disney Park Pass reservation system to what is and isn’t still an option during our upcoming resort stays. If you’re like us, this can mean you’ve been trying (possibly unsuccessfully!) to contact Disney for days!
While it can be ESPECIALLY hard to get hold of Disney during big news-times like this, we’re compiling a list of ALL the ways YOU can try to get those questions answered, your park pass glitch taken care of, and your reservations modified.
Phone Numbers
OK, despite the title of this article, there are a FEW ways you can get through by phone even when things seem dire. Scroll to the end of this section to see tips for getting past all of those busy signals!
Numbers to Call
In general, calling Disney is a good way to get an answer to your questions. However, it is not foolproof. For one, Disney’s call center can be overwhelmed with high demand which can make for multi-hour holds. When the Park Pass system opened, we weren’t even been able to access a hold, just a busy dial tone — yikes. Even when you DO get through, the Cast Member you’re talking to may not have all the answers you need.
Still, Guest Services Cast Members will do their best to help you, so a phone call is a good bet for getting the answers you need. Remember to be patient with the wait and with the Cast Members who are trying to help you.

Redialing To Get Past Busy Signals
Currently, we’re experiencing pretty unprecedented issues with the phone lines at Disney World. At press time we’re on day 3 of guests not even being able to get past a busy signal to get into a hold queue.
If this is happening to you, our suggestion is to keep redialing, redialing, redialing. Some guests are reporting having to redial hundreds of times (hearing a busy signal or “all circuits are busy” message) before getting placed into a hold queue. Here at DFB, I think our record to get placed into a hold queue is around 1 full hour of JUST redialing. (That’s followed by 4 hours of hold time.)
Once you’re in a hold queue, you may hear Disney hold music, or you may hear nothing. Either way, stay on the line. Some guests have reported having calls dropped after hours of being on hold. And yes, it happens. And it’s exhausting and disheartening. But until Disney gets this fixed, just keep redialing.
Chat Feature
If you have a quick question or want another option besides the phone lines, you can use the chat feature on the Disney World website. Typically, you can access this feature through a link on the “Contact Us” page or via the front page of the website. However, the chat is ALSO not foolproof. With high demand, the chat link HAS been deactivated on many occasions.
However, even with the “Contact Us” link deactivated, we were able to access the chat feature through the Walt Disney World home page. Keep in mind, also, that chat can come with some pretty long waits if demand is high. Still, it’s a great option if you can’t wait it out on the phone for so long.
Chat Can Still Work Even After Hours Of Waiting
In the past few days, readers have reported being able to share their issues in the chat area after hours-long waits. So even if it looks like nothing is happening in the chat when you activate it, as long as you get a “thank you for your message” prompt, keep that window open and keep watching. Eventually a cast member will respond and you can note your issue. If that cast member cannot help you, they MAY be able to add your phone number to a queue so that another cast member who can help you can give you a call.
Another option is to email Disney. Of course, you may not get the most prompt response in doing this, but if you’re not on a schedule for getting an answer back, this is definitely an option! Head over to the Email page on the Disney website. There’s a simple form to fill out with your information, your question, and your contact info. Once you have sent your message, a Cast Member will get back to you, but again, this is not a time-sensitive method.
Social Media
There is actually one other way that you can talk to Disney World Guest Services. Disney has one guest request-based social media with the @WDWGuestService Twitter account. Now, this account is currently marked as closed with the park closures and hasn’t had any new tweets since March, however it is typically a somewhat reliable way to get a response.
Direct messaging or tweeting at @WDWGuestServices will usually get you a response. Bonus: This is a good way to give a Cast Compliment when you have a really good experience with a Cast Member in Disney World.
With all of these methods, it can still be hard to reach Disney if there is really high demand. Remember to be patient and prepared to wait, just in case.

I waited in the Que for 5 hours last night. They finally answered at 11:20 p.m. They were as helpful as always and did solve my Tech Support problem.

Some phone companies have a four hour limit on calls, hence why they can drop after being on hold for so long.

This is why you should always book with a travel planner! We are very used to it! 🙂

The ONLY # that can actually help you is the (407) 939-7917 that the tech support phone #. We tried several with no luck. On the 22nd I did the hang up and redail 96 time! but finally got through. Then I was on hold for 2 hours and 55 mins. The good news is it’s just straight Disney music, not annoying announcements. In the end it was all worth it, she was able to book by park passes for all 3 of my Disney trips for the whole length of our stays.

Sorry in advance for the long rant. Hoping this information will help others without the exceedingly long phone wait. We are DVC members. We have confirmed Polynesian reservations for my husband, myself (both AP) and my daughter’s family for September 19-26. I do not have tickets for my daughters family. So no park passes. After several hours of calling Disney ticketing and DVC, I finally got through and preceded to wait another hour. I got through to Disney ticketing. I was told that NO stand alone tickets would be sold until late summer. Also, the CM quite rudely said ‘we always advise you to buy your tickets in advance in case something like this happens’. What, like a pandemic?? Disney has never frozen ticket sales before! And they did so this time without any DVC members with confirmed reservation holders being notified prior. If stand alone 2020 tickets are to be sold in ‘late summer’ what are the odds there will be any park passes or dining reservations available for September 19?? I have spent thousands and thousands of $ for our DVC points because we are truly Disney lovers. But the lack of consideration for DVC members is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. So very sad and disappointed. I know cast members are being raked over the coals, so I’ll look pass any rudeness. Still don’t understand how anyone would think DVC members should have seen this coming a month ago. Wish I had bought tickets earlier, obviously.

Just an FYI – the Annual Passholder phone number 407-560-7277 is for cast members only. I tried that number and instantly got through however they asked for my ID number. This number is a tech support number for cast members.

Thanks, Karen!

Barbara, that sounds so frustrating (to say the least). The info Disney has released in writing on the site says “later this summer.” Some readers have been told new ticket sales for 2020 could be as soon as next week, but we were unable to get confirmation on that from Disney. We will update as soon as we know ticket sales have resumed, and hopefully it’ll be sooner rather than later. Good luck!

Was able to grab tickets for my family for 3 parks (1 a day) for November travel… yay!
Have been on hold FOR OVER 5 HOURS trying to make resort reservations… it’s a good thing I like Disney music! But for Pooh’s sake I have the songs memorized now, so gwarsh – I hope I get through to a human being soon!

We drove over to Disney Springs a couple days ago to see if guest relations there could help us upgrade our Florida resident weekday passes. We tried and tried to get through on the phone to no luck, and we are suppose to stay with DVC family members in July which unfortunately is still blocked out for weekday select annual passes.
When we got to DS there were about 12-15 guest relations cast members at the welcome center, and we quickly found out that they are absolutely unable to do practically fix/do anything! The question I have for WDW is If Disney can’t fix their phone system issues and don’t have enough staff to support the call volume (which is actually a bit frustrating and pretty short-sighted on their part), why don’t they allow the concierge and guest relations cast members on property actually help to alleviate the problem!? I’m sure a lot of them would really appreciate the hours.
We’ve been Disney passholders for many years now and haven’t been to Universal Studios in about 11 years. I think this next year (or two, or three) may end up being Universal annual pass years. Maybe we’ll come back when they finish Epcot.

My sister had to call to make some changes to our early 2021 reservation the other day. She got on the phone around 7am ET on Friday and only had to wait around 60-90 minutes to speak with someone!
Crazy that that’s a “good” wait time, but thought I would share to hopefully help others beat the phone queues.

Our Florida annual passes were due for renewal April 8. I called the end of March (after the parks were closed indefinitely on the 16th) and was told not to renew until the parks reopened, and we would be given credit added to our annual passes for the days lost (23 days). I have been trying since Friday, June 26th ( when annual passholders could begin making park reservations to enter the parks) and keep getting “the ID number is already linked to an account“ and blocked from making a park reservation. I called the number provided for assistance and waited an hour and a half to speak with a nice overflow cast member who could only put me on hold and verify that the extra days have been credited to our passes but it would take an unknown amount of time to get that information into the system and until then we would not be able to obtain park admission reservations.
We have been loyal annual passholders for many years (as are, I’m sure, hundreds more out there who are also unable at this time to circumvent a completely incompatible, user unfriendly, reservation system!) At this rate we won’t be able to go to the park for the rest of the year and apparently in order to renew our annual passes when they do expire (the beginning of August) I will have to call a special VI Passholder number in order to do so. I cannot tell you how much we feel let down by Walt Disney World, that had three months to prepare for an anticipated reopening where thousands of guess would be vying for park entry, many of us local residents (we live about half an hour away). And to add insult to injury I received an email the other morning about the special passholder preview (pre-opening dates). When I tried to register for it it was already filled . To this day, as a bona fide Annual Passholder I still cannot make a park reservation. ……
PS Yesterday we were able to purchase annual passes for Universal Studios and were able to do that online. We went to the parks, picked up our passholder cards, and spent time in Islands of Adventure and had a lovely afternoon following the good rules – fully masked, using hand sanitizer and keeping 6 feet apart from others.

I am experiencing the exact same thing as Amy. My family is talking about going to Disney and it doesn’t look like I will be able to join them despite being a PAID pass holder. I’ve been a loyal pass holder for 4 years now and 6 before that (took a break) been on hold for days without talking to anyone. I’ve been using the 888-701-4100 number and have been on hold for a total of 6 hours with no answer. I am very frustrated and considering just cancelling. Disney, what the heck is happening?
Britt says
On hold for 12+ hours as on now…. Still holding

We paid out for the upgraded magic bands as we were staying at the resort
However due to flight cancellations our holiday is cancelled and I’ve been on the phone for 2 months not getting anywhere
Staff either put me in the wrong queue for 2 hours and I don’t know what to do
I’ve tried emailing and everything.

For general questions I always use the direct messaging for @WDWGuestServices. They always respond quickly and while I may not get the answer I was hoping for, they are always helpful. This way I can continue on with what I am doing without a phone attached to my ear.
