We know you guys have been experiencing a crazy time the last few days trying to figure out how the new Disney Park Pass reservation system works!
We’ve been trying to answer all your questions about Disney Park Pass since before it went live and we’ve even shared a step-by-step tutorial of how to use it, none of us were prepared for how glitchy it would be!
While it took A LOT of patience and sheer determination, we know many of you were eventually able to get those reservations. If you still haven’t been successful, click here to read some solutions to the most-common Disney Park Pass problems we’ve encountered!
And while certain days at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom have already filled up, Disney has shared that they “will make more space available for Annual Passholders and the public later this week.” So we should expect to see more spots open up in the coming days.
Keep in mind Disney Park Pass reservations are subject to availability and will help the theme parks manage their attendance levels better during their phased reopening. Only guests who’ve had both theme park tickets AND a hotel booking have been able to make Disney Park Pass reservations as of June 22nd. On June 26th, Annual Passholders WITHOUT a resort stay can make reservations. Then on June 28, existing ticket holders can make reservations.
As with everything, things are ALWAYS changing right now, so if Disney provides any updates about its new Disney Parks Pass system, we’ll be sure to pass them along to you!
This great tip could be the trick to getting your Disney Park Pass reservations EARLY!

JoAnn Weatherly says
Hi, there! I was wondering what the cancelation policy for park passes will be for people booking 2021 trips. I haven’t been able to find on the web site. Do you have any insight? Thank you!
Maria Larrance says
Has it been confirmed anywhere that guests that have a 2020 resort stay but no tickets being able to purchase tickets on Sunday June 28? I read that a disney spokesperson said tickets will be released to the general public this Sunday. Is that true??
Katrina says
Does dis eh when they are going to be sending the emails out for annual passholder previews? My family and I have been checking out emails and nothing yet.
Eric L. Erickson says
I’ve encountered an issue/flaw with the Park Pass System: I’m an Annual Passholder & was in the process of making my 2021 reservations when I discovered this “issue/flaw”. My January Resort & Park reservations were made without a hitch, but when I attempted to make an April reservation, I was able to reserve my Resort Room, but couldn’t make any Park Reservations because my Annual Pass expires in March & there’s no way to renew it now. What’s strange is that I have an old “no expiration pass” that is still active & has 7 days left on it from a time before I started buying Annual Passes, so I SHOULD have been able to at least reserve 3 days of Park Passes during the April trip.

We’re not going this summer (and we continue to be glad we made that decision). From what I read on the member message board on another web site, DVC members with reservations made with points have been unable to purchase tickets that would allow them to make theme park reservations. These were folks who had annual passes that needed renewal or who just hadn’t bought tickets yet. Now they’re shut out–and they OWN part of Disney via DVC. That’s ridiculous.
DFB Sarah says
Eric, possibly Disney can help over the phone, since it seems like a tech issue. I haven’t heard of this exact collection of circumstances, but hopefully they can get your problem sorted out.
DFB Sarah says
Katrina, they haven’t said when they’ll send those emails. We will update as soon as we know.
DFB Sarah says
Maria, a couple of our readers have reported that Disney reservations cast members they spoke with told them Sunday, June 28, the new ticket sales and reservations for 2020 will go live. However, the official language says “Later this summer, we will resume sales of 2020 tickets and Disney Resort hotel arrivals, based on availability of park reservations, while we continue to provide Guests with existing tickets and Annual Passholders the opportunity to make park reservations for 2020 dates.” When we reached out to Disney via chat, the person we spoke with said there’s no confirmed start date yet.
DFB Sarah says
JoAnn, I don’t believe we’ve seen a cancellation policy yet, but it’s something we’re watching for.
Patricia Robbins says
I’ve had my DVC hotel booked since last Oct but didn’t get tickets prior to the shut down. Now I can’t book park dates. When are they going to release tickets to those with reservations?
DFB Sarah says
Patricia, unfortunately they haven’t said anything more specific than “later this summer.”

I got my three days this morning. I tried to schedule a 4th day and it said I’d reached my limit. I didn’t make my first reservation until November, so I won’t be able to make another day’s reservation until after that and I’ve got a Gold Pass this year and the last half of December is blackout. What a sad year.
