Depending on where you currently reside, several states have instituted travel advisories that could put your Disney World plans on hold.
New York was one of the first places in America to enact one of these emergency orders which requires every traveler to self-quarantine upon entering (or re-entering) the state for two weeks after visiting a state with a high infection rate. And now, the New York Governor has just upped the stakes by implementing a new penalty for travelers who disobey his emergency order.
Today, Governor Andrew Cuomo has passed a new order that states any out-of-state travelers arriving in New York from states that have been previously identified as high-risk will incur a $2,000 fine if they fail to identify themselves upon entry. The news was relayed earlier today via Twitter.
NY is issuing an emergency health order:
Out-of-state travelers from designated high-COVID states must provide their contact information upon arrival.
If you fail to provide it, you will receive a summons with a $2K fine.
We’re serious about enforcing quarantine.

Update: Connecticut is following suit with New York and will also be toughening up their travel quarantine advisory. Although officials haven’t stated whether or not they’ll be implementing penalty fees, they will also be implementing a certification process for travelers.
We’ll continue to closely monitor this situation for further developments, but for now, you can learn more about the emergency order that Florida’s governor has just extended here.

Opening Disney parks is one of the most irresponsible action that could have been taken and people should avoid going until the risk is gone.

What if you are just connecting to another flight, MCO to Newark and then changing planes to another flight home? What if you have to overnight?

I love Disney World but it’s a vacation. Contracting COVID could mean your life or suffering with a long term complication. Also, if you include the self-quarantine time after you return from Orlando, that could exhaust all your PTO. Let’s keep a proper perspective.
