All four Disney World theme parks have finally reopened after their longest closure in history.
We’ve spent the better part of the last two weeks exploring the parks to show you all the changes that have been implemented while guests were away. From seas of social distancing markers to newly installed plexiglass barriers and temperature screening checkpoints, there’s certainly been a lot of new ground-breaking procedures to cover!
Now we want to discuss Disney World’s Disability Access Service or (DAS). Disney stated prior to the theme parks’ reopening DAS would resume and operate the same as it did prior to Disney World’s closure. We spoke with a Cast Member at Magic Kingdom’s Guest Relations during the who confirmed this was the case.
Assistive technology devices for guests with hearing disabilities are still available at Guest Relations and are being thoroughly cleaned before being redistributed.
Meanwhile, guests with disabilities are able to ride Disney World’s attractions through the same process as they could previously. Rider switch is still available and Disability Passes are still in use with alternative access entrances for guests with disabilities.
Keep in mind, guests with disabilities will still need to join a boarding group to ride Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Passes are distributed at 10AM, 1PM, and 4PM daily, and guests may only join one group per day. Guests must also transfer from their wheelchair or EVC vehicle to ride.
Strollers, wheelchairs, and EVC vehicle rentals are still available and stroller rentals can still be delivered to your Disney World Resort hotel.Â
Companion restrooms are also still available.

At this time there is no exception to Disney World’s mandatory face mask policy. All Disney World guests over the age off 2 must wear a face covering at all times. Relaxation stations are provided throughout each theme park where all guests may temporarily remove their mask. Guests can also take off their masks while seated at a quick service or table service restaurant.
We’ll continue to share more helpful information with you as we navigate the newly reopened Disney World theme parks, but for now, check out this Rise of the Resistance glitch that kept us from joining a boarding group TWICE yesterday!

Nancy Hughes says
Because it’s so quiet,do you still get a return time or do you just go to the ride and then they let you go in the alternate entrance.?
DFB Sarah says
Nancy, the on-site reporting team was told at all locations where they asked about DAS that it’s the same procedure as before. However, if you’re hoping to experience a ride that has little or no wait time, it’s possible you could be waved through. You’ll want to talk to a Cast Member (as always!) at each location. Have fun!
Maria says
How does DAS work at Rise of the Resistance. I know I need a boarding group. If I get a boarding group number and it gets called, then how does DAS work?
DFB Sarah says
Maria, what we have been told is that once you’ve got your Boarding Pass, you should head over to Rise to talk to a Cast Member about your DAS. If you don’t want to spend the rope drop hours doing that, you could just speak to them when your Boarding Pass is called, and I imagine you’d be fine. Prior to the Park closures, they were sending DAS users through the FastPass line, so you may find that’s still the case.

How do you pre register for a video conference? I can’t see anywhere to do that?
