For many months, Florida has ordered visitors coming from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to complete a 14-day self-quarantine upon their arrival. The emergency order was just extended by another 60 days and is now set to expire on September 5th.
Similarly, several states have also issued their own travel advisories. Some of them require residents or guests traveling from states that have been deemed to have a high infection rate to quarantine for 2 weeks upon entry. New York has even updated its order with a potential fine for travelers who disobey.
Today, Mike DeWine, the Governor of Ohio, issued a new advisory for everyone coming from states that have an infection rate of 15% or higher.
States included in the Governor’s new issuance include Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Mississippi, Nevada, South Carolina, Texas, and the territory of Puerto Rico.
Today, I’m announcing a travel advisory for all individuals coming into #Ohio from states reporting positive testing rates of 15% or higher for #COVID19 and recommend that those individuals self-quarantine for 14 days. pic.twitter.com/hrtbAOvDiv

Patricia Lawrance says
We are bringing my son to college in Ohio in August, what do we need to do?
DFB Sarah says
Patricia, at present the quarantine is a suggestion from the Governor, but you might want to check with your son’s college for guidance.
Greg says
Gov. DeWine needs to make it MANDATORY that people working in business’s MUST quarantine for 14 days BEFORE RETURNING to work. It’s NOT fair as we are doing Right by all and then that 1 employee or employees DO NOT in returning infecting the Entire SHOP an then this infects their families at home too. I have a child with a TBI an compromised lungs and GOODYEAr is saying they are following Gov. DeWines “recommendations “ to self. Quarantine . This employee is coming from Florida/ Disney World an to return to work Tues., 7-28-2020. So “can” we file a civil suit against this employee ad well as Goodyear for NOT protecting their employees that ARE taking this Pandemic seriously? Or do we go after Gov DEWINE for NOT making a stand up call and PROTECT even the most vulnerable citizens making it mandatory NOT just a recommendation . Health “ IS “ FREEDOM. . If this employee won’t stay home for. 14 days then lets others that want to protect their families the right to stay home f out r 14 days to find out if this guy has been infected AND be paid for it. I don’t want to loose my son , my husband or get sick too. I am my sons LIFELINE. If we get sick there is nobody to care for him. This recommended quarantine order could. kILL entire families b/c they do NOT believe any of this is real. GOD HELP me.
