The Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World has undergone a few changes due to the global health crisis. There are fewer booths than previous years and new merchandise releases have been delayed.
Yesterday, we noted the Islands of the Caribbean food booth was closed at EPCOT. The shades were drawn and we had to forgo another delish serving of Flancocho. Today, we noticed something else on Disney World’s website regarding the closed booth.
The search for good jerk-spiced chicken continues! The food booth has been removed from the Global Marketplaces listing on Disney World’s website. The booth’s listing should be placed in-between Hops & Barley and Italy booth on the website. You can no longer search for the booth and view the menu. This may indicate a prolonged closure for Islands of the Caribbean.
The Cast Member we spoke to yesterday stated that the kiosk is temporarily closed until further notice. It’s unclear how long the booth will remain closed and the reasoning behind the initial closure.
We will continue to scope out the situation for any updates regarding the Islands of Caribbean booth in the theme park and on the Disney World website. We’ll also keep an eye on the rest of the kiosks at the Food and Wine Festival for any future changes!

Given the Times, one can only speculate something bad happened in this food booth, food handling problem, Covid infection, or ?
DFB Sarah says
Mike, our understanding is that the booth was not selling as well as others and they’re planning only to open it on weekends.
