It’s been over a month since Chadwick Boseman’s unexpected passing, and stories from his life are still bringing us a little bit of solace.
Boseman’s legacy has been honored in many ways — from a new mural in Downtown Disney to the telling of little remembrances from those who knew him. Sienna Miller, Boseman’s co-star in 21 Bridges, has revealed a personal story about Boseman that reminds us how good of a person he was.
In an interview with Empire, Miller explained that Boseman took a cut from his own salary to boost hers so that she could be paid fairly. Per Miller, “I said, ‘I’ll do it if I’m compensated in the right way.’ And Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for. He said that that was what I deserved to be paid.”
Miller called Boseman a gracious person and noted that she had not shared the story publicly before. She decided to now in thinking that it acts as a testament to who Boseman was. “It was about the most astounding thing that I’ve experienced,” Miller said, “That kind of thing just doesn’t happen. He said, ‘You’re getting paid what you deserve, and what you’re worth.’”
It certainly is a comfort to hear touching stories from Boseman’s life as we continue to celebrate his legacy.
