We’ve been keeping an eye on all of the construction going on at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Various changes are set take to place around the hotel as it undergoes refurbishment and its guest rooms get a Moana-inspired makeover. As a result of the construction, the monorail station at the Polynesian will be closing temporarily later this year.
According to the Cast Member we chatted with on the Disney World website and the Disney World website, as it appeared in late August, the monorail station was originally set to close temporarily beginning in October of this year.
But, now it appears that date has been pushed back. According to the Disney Resort Hotels website, due to the upcoming refurbishments at the Polynesian, monorail service to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will now be temporarily suspended beginning November 2nd. So, if you’re headed from the Polynesian to Magic Kingdom (or vice versa), starting November 2nd you’ll have to find some alternative transportation methods.
The Disney website notes that bus transportation will be available between the Polynesian and Magic Kingdom beginning November 2nd.
Additionally, the walkway between the Polynesian and the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) will remain open. So, if you’ll be staying at the Polynesian, you can still head over to the TTC and hop on a monorail to Magic Kingdom from there. Additionally, if you’re leaving Magic Kingdom and wanting to visit the Polynesian to grab a snack or enjoy a meal at Kona Cafe, you’ll still be able to ride the monorail to the TTC and then take a quick walk from there to the Polynesian.
We’ll keep an eye out for more construction updates so you can best plan for your next trip to Disney World. Be sure to come back for all the latest news!

Awesome!! Cause we’ll be there Oct 25th. We were all bummed that our first stay at the poly would not have the monorail. Now we’re happy again!!!
