French President Emmanuel Macron has recently ordered a nightly curfew which will impact roughly a third of the country’s population.
As reported by Reuters, Macron said the curfew is intended to slow the resurgence of COVID-19, which has been tied to parties and private gatherings. The curfews will take effect beginning this evening, and will run nightly from 9PM to 6AM until December 1st. The Paris region is one of the areas included in the curfew, which means Disneyland Paris will be impacted.
The Disneyland Paris theme parks reopened to guests on July 15th. The theme parks have been operating with reduced hours since September 14th, with Disneyland Park closing by 8PM or earlier and Walt Disney Studios Park closing by 6PM or earlier.
So, while this curfew won’t impact the hours at either of the parks, it will impact the operating hours of the stores and restaurants in Disney Village, the Resort’s shopping and dining district. The restaurants in Disney Village that are operated by Disneyland Paris will be open from 5PM-9PM daily. The boutiques operated by Disneyland Paris will be open from 4PM-9PM daily.
Macron said the goal of the curfew is to reduce the country’s current rate of 20,000 new cases per day to around 3,000 and to lessen the burden on intensive care units in hospitals. He also said he does not foresee another national lockdown at this time, commenting, “We’ll get through this if we stick together.”
