Disneyland remains closed and after the release of the new California Theme Park Guidelines, it looks like that may be the case for some time.
This week, we’ve seen the Disneyland President and the Mayor of Anaheim voice opinions about the new guidelines. Now, Disneyland has reached out to their Annual Passholders through email regarding the situation.
Due to the closure, many Annual Passholders have been placed in a difficult situation when it comes to the decision of keeping their passes. Disney is, of course, aware of this and has addressed that as well.
The email reads as follows:
“Dear Valued Annual Passholder,
You may have seen that theme park reopening guidelines were released by the State of California and that parks like Disneyland® Resort were placed in the most restrictive tier. Despite our proven ability to operate with responsible health and safety protocols in place for our Cast Members and Guests, this news from the governor’s office means that our theme parks will not be reopening as soon as we had hoped.
After an already incredibly difficult month for the Disneyland Resort, we are heartbroken and disappointed, and understand you may feel the same. We want to thank you immensely for your patience since our closure and let you know that we continue to think about you as our valued Annual Passholders. While we work to understand the implications of this and determine what it means for our Annual Passport program, we know that you have many questions and given the latest guidance from the state, we will have more to share with you on the future of our AP Program soon. We also want you to know that the efforts to reopen Disneyland Resort will continue as we work to seek solutions to bring our Cast back to work, get our local economy moving and share the magic and joy of our theme parks once again. We thank you for your patience with us during this incredibly challenging time and for being important members of our Disneyland Resort community.
We will be in touch with you as soon as we can to share more details. If you have any questions, please contact Annual Passholder Member Services at (714) 781-PASS (7277).
Disneyland Resort Annual Passport Team”
As the email states, more updates should be announced soon. We will share that information as soon as it is released. We know that all of this can be a bit confusing and overwhelming, so if you have any questions about Disneyland Resort or the new guidelines please let us know. We will do our very best to get you the answers you need.
When could Disneyland Resort reopen? Here’s what we know.

That section says it all. We were hoping to visit Disneyland on our California trip this holiday season and our kids will be very disappointed to hear that we won’t be able to.

My boyfriend and I have our own Annual Flex Passports. Neither one of us received this email. Was it only sent to other passholder tiers?

I would go to Disneyland when you don’t need a mask and everything is normal again even you opened no parade and fireworks and social distancing i won’t go and the admission you charge is to expensive waste of money if you have to make reservations to go the park is ridiculous

I never received this email as an Annual Passholder? Disney needs to ensure that they are reaching to everyone who’s an annual Passholder of any tier.

My entire family are annual pass holders. We will not return if masks are required.

Neither my husband nor I received this email.

If Walt Disney World can open at 25% capacity, with safety measures in place and be successful, what’s the problem with Disneyland? Oh yeah, I forgot; it’s in California.

We also, have not received any email from Annual Passholder Program. We have the pass that allows entry all year, except two weeks at Christmas/New Year, and it includes parking. I have no idea how they’re sending out this notification. We have also decided to wait until masks are not required to visit the park. We may change our minds, because who knows when the California parks can ever reopen? When the election is over? When we have a vaccine? When we get a new governor?
