UPDATE: Dining reservations are now available again both online and in the My Disney Experience app. Disney announced that the reservations were made available in error. New reservations made during the glitch will be canceled to ensure social distancing. Learn more here.Â
We’ve noticed something pretty strange about the Disney World dining reservations this morning.
With the reopening of the Disney World resort hotels and theme parks, there were some changes to dining — particularly with limited capacities. Now, several months later, could something be changing?
This morning, we had several readers reported that there was suddenly wide-open availability for dining locations they had been unable to book up to this point. Even we were able to snag some hard-to-get reservations this morning like Chef Mickey’s and Hollywood & Vine!
Then, as the morning went on, reservations became completely unavailable all of a sudden! Despite the Disney site still noting that dining reservations are available online, we’ve been seeing this error message on every dining-related page.
When we tried to check reservations on the My Disney Experience app, we saw the same “Reservations are currently unavailable” pop-up that was used during the closures.
Of course, we kept trying. We were able to get the pop-up to close and to select the number of people and the date and time before we were shown another error message. This one notes that access to the reservation servers is unavailable.
We’re no longer getting the Lady and the Tramp error on the site, but we were still unable to make reservations at time of writing. Despite showing availability, we were met with another message when we tried to book on the Disney site.
We’re not too sure about what’s going on with the dining reservations this morning, but stay tuned to DFB as we learn more. And if you’re having a similar experience, please let us know.

Hi, Quincy!
It is 100% confirmed that they’ll honor it if you have a confirmation number? I can’t seem to find any of Disney’s statements regarding this glitch. A spoke to a CM that said they were still valid, but I’m still not 100% convinced considering their capacity restrictions.

Yeah, what was up with that this morning??? I was able to get a toppolino terrace reservation at 8 am, as well as a T-Rex dinner reservation at Disney springs. Now I’m scared that Service will be slow or the wait time to be seated will be delayed trying to squeeze all the “open” reservations in. How is Disney going to accommodate all these extra reservations?

Yes! Early this morning (7:30ish) I was looking through dining options for our last day at Disney (12/16). Chef Mickey’s breakfast option showed up, and I was successfully able to book for our family of 5. I received a confirmation and it’s in my plans through the app. Then I was able to book us lunch at Beaches and Cream! I can’t tell you how much your blog has helped me with planning our first family WDW vacation! Thanks DFB team and AJ!

I can’t thank you enough, my son really wanted to go to Coral Reef but it was unavailable when I tried booking our dining reservations. Thanks to your email this morning I managed to score reservations for our whole group!

This has been happening to me all day so far. Occasionally I can get in, but we just got our 60 day availability to get in and so far I’ve only been able to book the first night at our resort and the first day at Hollywood Studios and also dinner at Disney Springs the second night. But that is over three hours of time where it keeps crashing.

What restaurant is that with the coco chairs?????

They are now cancelling anyone who made new reservations that day saying it was a glitch. Frustrating as I had one for months and edited the time on Nov 3 and now they are cancelled and nothing available !

This ruined my trip! I modified my Liberty tree tavern reservation I made 60 days in advance at 6:00 AM. I changed the time by 45 minutes. Nov5th I get an email from Disney saying I made my reservation on Nov3rd to an already full experience and the a sorry they have to cancel my reservation. I was a disaster I contacted them through the help center and I’m going to call today.
I hope they make this right!
