Disney World has been implementing an updated security screening process since it reopened in July.
The new process minimizes the need for bag check by allowing guests to walk through updated security scanners WITH their bags. If the terminals flag a bag, then Cast Members do a limited-touch search. Now, this system has come to Disney Springs.
Up to this point, Disney Springs has not had a security screening or bag check system in place, but today, we spotted the new security screening terminals.
We entered the complex through the Orange Garage and spotted the new process, but a security Cast Member told us that the new process is in place in BOTH garages.
So, now, when you enter Disney Springs you’ll go through the temperature check and then through the security screening, just like you would going into a Disney park.
As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates from Disney World!

Visited Disney Springs Feb 28, 2023 with bus tour group. Fellow traveler treated horribly at security. No rhyme or reason for it. Saw DS own rules violated by observing someone with selfie stick inside shopping complex and someone who notified security they had pocket knife which was not confiscated. Your security agents need refresher courses!

Hi Barbara! I’m not sure why the pocket knife wasn’t confiscated, but selfie sticks are allowed in Disney Springs. You just can’t take them into the parks.
