Judging by the global obsession with Baby Yoda and the success of movies like live-action Mulan, it’s safe to say Disney+ has been a resounding hit across the world!
Disney continues to make BIG moves with its streaming platform, and their latest is an exciting (and HUGE) partnership with a Latin American media company that’ll bring Disney+ to Brazil!
One of the major effects of the pandemic this year has been the shift away from movie theaters to at-home streaming services, which has likely contributed to the ENORMOUS success of Disney+.
Disney keeps focusing more and more on the service and innovating it in new ways. They’ve announced the release Soul on Disney+ as a nice little Christmas gift for viewers, began offering subscription gift cards (hello, Christmas gift!), added mobile sharing features, and more!
Their latest move is another biggie, and it marks the streamer’s splashy debut in South America’s largest country! Before launching across all of Latin America on November 17, Disney+ partnered with Globoplay, a similar streaming platform in Brazil that’s owned by Globo, the largest media company in Latin America, according to Variety.
This means that viewers in Brazil can NOW purchase Disney+ through a combined subscription package before Disney releases its own standalone service! So for a limited-time discounted price of R$43.90 ($7.60) per month, users will be able to access all the Disney+ hits, PLUS everything on Globoplay!
Once November 17 arrives and Disney+ is available individually, though, the early-bird deal goes away. We’re so excited to see Disney+ spread across the globe so successfully! Welcome to the Baby Yoda fan club, Brazil!
We’re OBSESSED with the GroupWatch feature on Disney+!
