Stretch out those eating pants! It’s officially time for the 2020 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays!
The festival might look a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have PLENTY of holiday eats to get into our bellies. We’re popping over to the Germany Pavilion to review an old favorite — it’s the Bavaria Holiday Kitchen!
This Holiday Kitchen has been around for a few years now and stands out as a favorite in our minds. Here’s a glimpse at the 2020 menu!
So, let’s check out those eats!
Food
Remember the Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce, Spätzle, and Braised Red Cabbage? This dish debuted at this booth at the 2019 festival and it was one of our FAVORITES last year!
First up, we gave the Cheese Fondue in a Bread Bowl with Steamed Baby Vegetables and Marble Potatoes for $8.25 a try and, we’ll tell ya, it’s not hard to get us to fall in love with a doughy bowl full of liquid cheese.
Do we even need to say it? It’s a HUGE serving of melted cheese in a bread bowl? What’s not to love? This thing is huge, by Fest standards, and easily sharable. Plus, after you eat all those veggies, you can tear apart the bowl and eat the cheese-soaked goodness. It’s delicious AS ALWAYS. Will it make our Best of the Fest list AGAIN? You’ll just have to wait and see.
The Bavaria booth is also home to the Linzer Cookie — one of the stops on the Festival of the Holidays Cookie Stroll! We call this $2.50 treat super tasty and not overly sweet. Honestly…it kinda tastes like a fancy pop tart. And we’re into it.
But enough about the food! Let’s talk about what you’ll be using to wash it down!
Beverages
This booth has one new beverage this year with the Ayinger Brewery Celebrator Doppelbock from Bavaria, Germany. Like all beers at this festival, this one will run you $4.50 for 6 ounces and $8.50 for 12 ounces.
And there are some returning options too! You might remember the Possmann Pure Hard Apple Cider from last year. It’s a yummy, classic hard cider and you can pick it up for $4.50 for 6 ounces and $8.50 for 12 ounces.
Plus, you can pick up some Christmasy classics like a Regional Riesling for $6 and the Glühwein (that’s House-made Hot Spiced Wine) for $9, both of which are great holiday sips.
Overall, this booth is knockin’ ’em dead as usual! Stay tuned as we review EVERY. SINGLE. BOOTH. at the 2020 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. You’re not going to want to miss it!
