WELCOME, friends, to Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Let’s waste no time… because not one, but TWO spots in the park have just reopened, and a favorite holiday treat made a spectacular return. And there’s more where that came from… so join us as we check out WHAT’S NEW in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Animal Kingdom Food Updates
Harambe Market
We’ve got another counter service spot to add to the list of reopened restaurants in Walt Disney World, now that Harambe Market is serving guests again in Animal Kingdom’s Africa!
We definitely want to note that the spot is only operating on weekends upon reopening, with limited hours (from 10:30AM to 3PM on Saturdays and Sundays).
But we certainly had enough time to grab a Ribs & Chicken Bowl…
.. AND a Simba Cupcake!
ROAR!!
See our review of the newly-reopened Harambe Market here!
Menagerie Cupcake
Speaking of cupcakes, an absolute stunner made its holiday return to Flame Tree Barbecue and Restaurantosaurus: the Menagerie Cupcake!
This cute-as-can-be gingerbread treat has not yet arrived at Creature Comforts, but it should be available at the park’s Starbucks location, too, starting December 1st.
Take a closer look at the gorgeous Menagerie Cupcake here!
But if you’re looking for something other than a cupcake… 😉
DinoLand Pop-Up Bar
There’s a little Pop-Up Bar we’d like to tell you about…
On recent visits, the Pop-Up Bar in DinoLand was parked closer to DINOSAUR. (It’s FAST! It’s a BLAST! It’s IN THE PAST!)
But with the line for the attraction getting longer with regards to weekend crowds, they are testing out a new location near Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures.
Animal Kingdom Attraction Updates
Affection Section
We’ve got another reopened location to chat about… the Affection Section at Rafiki’s Planet Watch has also reopened!
This precious Petting Zoo is welcoming guests back with new safety measures such as a distancing and additional hand washing stations…
…and plenty of ol’ pals!
Join us on our first visit back to the Affection Section here!
Fossil Fun Games
Oh! And Fossil Fueler was back in action this weekend!
This Dinoland site in Fossil Fun Games was closed due to technical difficulties on our last visit, but now it’s up and running once again.
Step right up and see what you can win!

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Updates
Personalization Station
The Personalization Station for ornaments, gifts, or those must-have Mickey Ears was available outside of Discovery Trading Company on our visit.
Guests were welcome to enjoy the park while waiting for their item to be personalized, if they so wished, and come back for their personalized pieces.
Awww… it’s Baby’s 1st (or 50th, in the case of Baby Yoda) Christmas!
Animal Kingdom STYLE Updates
Gorilla with Glasses
And, just for fun… check out THIS cool character!
The Gorilla statue outside of the exit for It’s Tough To Be a Bug was sportin’ some new shades… a pair of the 3D glasses from the attraction.
Our best guess is that a guest just forgot to turn them in — too busy running away from the stink bug, maybe?! — and decided this was as good a place as any to “return” them. If that is indeed the case, we agree!
