Disney has produced some incredible water elements over the year for guests to enjoy.
From World of Color in Disney California Adventure, to (possibly short-lived) Rivers of Light in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we’ve seen fantastical works of water in the parks. Even EPCOT incorporates gorgeous water fountains into its nighttime spectaculars, including the massive ones we’ll see when Harmonious debuts. Well, all of that has nothing on the fountain of RATS. 🙂
During the D23 Fantastic Worlds Celebration: EPCOT and the Magic of Possibility event, Imagineers and Pixar team members discussed the upcoming expansion, including the just-announced fountain. Take a look at the concept art!
The fountain is designed as a celebration of the rats with Remy and friends featured and champagne bottles spraying water into the air. If you ask us, it looks pretty similar to the existing fountain in Disneyland Paris! In fact, all of the real-life imagery shown in the presentation was of the Disneyland Paris fountain. The concept art above was of the fountain coming to EPCOT.
The Disneyland Paris fountain is based on one found in Place des Vosges in Paris but with rat heads instead of lions spouting the water. The Disney World concept art seems to draw from the same inspiration.
Imagineers noted this would be a focal point of the new area and looked forward to guests getting to experience it.
Wowza! We can’t WAIT to see the completed fountain when the France Expansion opens. Plus, we get to look forward to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure AND La Creperie de Paris in 2021, too! As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates!

What a riot! Anytime I can get a fountain at Epcot, I’m all for it since I’m still pining over the Fountain of Nations.
