There’s quite a bit of construction happening in Disney World right now!
And that includes several projects in Magic Kingdom! From the completely drained Rivers of America to construction on the new TRON Lightcycle Run, things are moving right along ahead of the park’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
One attraction that was also set to receive a mini-makeover was “it’s a small world” in Fantasyland. For the past few months, large construction walls and scrim have covered the outside of the attraction. And while the ride itself has still been operating during the construction, the giant walls definitely added a different look to this section of the park!
A few days ago, some of the scrim started to come down and the ride’s iconic sign became visible once again.
And now, the construction walls are all down and the ride’s facade is fully visible again!
Even though the scrim covering the attraction received a multi-colored look, it still can’t hold a candle to the SUPER bright colors of the “it’s a small world” facade, so we’re glad to see it’s finally out from behind those walls!
The fresh paint job includes a slightly different color scheme, and the newly applied colors are definitely brighter than before, although they will likely fade after some time in the intense Florida sun. Check out the “before” picture below for comparison!
We’ll continue to check out progress on all the construction projects in the works around Disney World so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for all of the latest updates!
