Looks like the NBA’s residence in Disney World wasn’t a one-time thing.
You probably remember when much of the NBA moved into Disney World last summer to complete the season from the NBA bubble. Last month, it was reported that the NBA G League was expected to come to Disney World for another bubble. Now, the plan is CONFIRMED!
According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, after nine months of delays, the NBA G League will be playing their 2021 season at Disney World, in the same bubble environment that the NBA used this summer.
Play will occur in February and the top eight teams will advance to a single-elimination playoff.
As it was initially reported by CBS Sports, not every team will be participating because it’s reported to cost $400,000 to $500,000 for the franchises to send their teams to the bubble. Of the franchises, 11 have already opted out from sending their team. To see the list of which teams are set to go and which aren’t, click here.
