We’ve been keeping a close eye on all of the construction going on at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (a.k.a. the Star Wars hotel that isn’t really a hotel).
Last year, we got a peek at a mocked-up version of part of the guest rooms. But, today we got another sneak peek at the rooms(!), with a special look at the bunk beds and “windows” looking out to a galaxy far, far away. You’ve GOT to check this out!
Earlier today, Jeff Vahle, the President of Walt Disney World Resort, posted some AMAZING photos of the guest rooms at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Vahle said he and Josh D’Amaro (the Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products) enjoyed getting a sneak peek at the progress that Walt Disney Imagineering has made at the Star Wars hotel.
Vahle said they got the chance to check out the cabins in progress, ‘including their windows to space seen in these renderings.” Here’s a look at part of the room — specifically the bunk beds area. You can get a little bit better sense of the scale of the beds. They look a bit…tiny. But, we’ll reserve full judgment until we get to sit in one ourselves!
Vahle also shared a photo of that window that is meant to look out into space. We can’t wait to see this in action.
For reference, here’s a peek at that window, and some more of the room, that was shared last year. This was from a mocked-up guest cabin.
We got a peek at the actual windows on the outside of the building last year as well.
In Vahle’s post, he said they also got a look at The Atrium and looked out The Bridge windows to what will be a galaxy far, far away. The Atrium is described as the “heart of the Halcyon” (the Halcyon being the name of the “ship” you board during this Star Wars hotel adventure). The Atrium is a place where crew and passengers will all gather.
The Bridge, on the other hand, is where guests will have the chance to operate the ship’s navigation and defense systems.
We can’t wait to see the Star Wars hotel once it is fully complete and dive into the Star Wars adventure of our dreams. Keep in mind that the Star Wars hotel (although we call it that) is not really just a hotel — it’s a fully immersive, 2-night experience. Think more along the lines of a cruise.
What will you get to do during this 2-night stay? Well, you’ll get the chance to train with a lightsaber, interact with your favorite Star Wars characters, and even operate some of the ship’s defense systems!
Guests will also get to grab a refreshment at The Silver C Lounge and even take a ride over to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for more adventures.
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience is set to open in Disney World in 2021. We’re on the lookout for more details about it and will let you know when we get more information about this out-of-this-world adventure.

Wow, this where my nephew wants to stay, but he just bought his first home so I think a trip to Disney World is on hold for right now. 🙁

I don’t know if it’s just me, but the idea of staying in a hotel room without any actual windows sounds sort of uncomfortable to me, and the pictures of the rooms look pretty claustrophobic which definitely doesn’t help. Thinking this might not be a place for me. Wonder if people not staying at the hotel (or the “not a hotel”) will be able to do anything in the area without actually staying at the hotel, like how you can do that with other Disney Resorts
