A lot of these complaints are just silly. The All-Stars are “far” from the other parks because they’re close to AK, ok, but that means that “everything else” is far from AK. You can’t be near everything. Even if you’re staying at the Grand Floridian, you’re still 20 minutes from everything but MK. Obviously, people aren’t used to commuting in a city, because that’s exactly what Disney transportation is like. Nothing at CBR is a 20-minute walk. And if you think the All-Stars are like a Motel 6, then pony up for a more expensive resort.

Sounds like most of the responders would be happier at a $75 a night high rise Hampton Inn. I’m always surprised when so many people adore the Polynesian which is more spread out than many of the ones they didn’t like in your video. It’s hard to keep theming when Disney wants to turn all the rooms into generic rooms.

I totally agree about Old Key West, We got a free upgrade offer for either Old Key West or Saratoga Springs. I guess they needded our booked Pop Century room. Old Key West was so huge! It took 15 minutes to get to a refill station for our mugs. There is not a food court, just a little kiosk-like area. Our room was 900 sq feet!! It was beautiful, but Yikes! And the buses. We were closest to the first stop so had to be on for all the other stops. When returning, ours was the last stop! And I totally get the retirement home comment!
I must defend Pop Century though! We love Pop Century! Our favorite and first choice will always be French Quarter, but Pop is next. Disney’s theming is often over the top…that’s okay with us. No matter what building you’re in, it’s not far to the buses or the food court. The renovated rooms are great too, adding the coffee station and fridge. One thing I would love to see would be covered waiting areas for the buses. It gets pretty hot standing in the sun waiting for the buses!
I agree with all of the other least favorite. Doesn’t mean I don’t like to go to the restaurants at GF or Contemporary.

So we spent nine nights at the Yaht Club in December and due to flight issues we decided to add a night so we gave Destino a try. We loved the space and grandure of the Yaht Club. The service was top notch and everyone so incredibly friendly. With four adults and all their luggage ot was perfect.
Then came the Destino Tower for a night. WOW! Your breath is taken away when you walk in. We fell in love with a more compact resort with all the amenities and a short walk to the pool. After spending countless days in the parks we opted for a pool day and it was heaven. After returning from a day in the sun we booked our next trip back at the Destino Tower. We don’t care about how long it takes with busses etc. But this place is loaded with so much at half the price of a deluxe.

I’ve stayed at the Grand Floridian and enjoyed it. That being said, I have to say that I feel it’s just way to spread out and somewhat hard to navigate. We’re seniors and they put us in the last building, right across from the boat docks even though we requested (a year in advance) a room as close to the main building as possible. I understand that a request is just that, a request but the walkways are not covered and you are out in the elements to get to the main building for everything. So, if you are all dressed up for dinner, you just have to hope it’s not raining! The service IS impeccable there and we love the ambiance and the convenience to the parks but for the dollars you pay, you best be prepared to WALK and after a long day in the parks, to make that hike after getting off the monorail is a little disheartening. I still love the GF and may stay there again someday. We did not ask to be moved and probably should have but they were sold out the week we were there so we just made the best of our situation and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

surprised that Bay Lake Tower wasn’t on this list! Nice hotel, clean and super close to Mk but it had the same vibe as a Marriott (with a bigger price tag).

We love the Beach Club, so handy to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, good bus transportation and great service, lovely people working there.

We are West Coasters (90 minutes from Disneyland) so WDW is a rare trip for us. The five times we have been, though, over a span of 35 years, we have always stayed at the Yacht and Beach Club (both sides over the years). This hotel is perfect for us in so many ways we just can’t change. So close to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, so many places to eat between the hotels and those parks. Lovely pool, great rooms.
We did spend 2 nights for something different at the Animal Kingdom Lodge hotel but never again. Too remote, not a fan of the restaurants and too much walking within the hotel for us. It sounded better than it was in reality. We enjoyed the Animal Kingdom park, just not the hotel.
