Have you ever stayed at Disney’s Pop Century Resort?
This “value” Disney Resort hotel takes guests back in time to the second half of the 20th century. With buildings themed to various decades, reasonably priced rooms, and access to the Disney Skyliner, Pop Century has become a POP-ular choice for many guests. Today, we’re stopping by the resort and giving you a look INSIDE one of the rooms.
We’re staying in a Standard Pool room with a pool view. In terms of price, choosing the pool view tends to add a few more dollars onto the room price each night. Depending on when you stay, the rates will change, but the pool view added about $5 each night for us. So let’s take a look around!

Let’s take a closer look at this pop art of Mickey! It really contributes to the themed look in the newly-updated room.
When folded up, the second queen bed has a table with seats for two. You can pull it down at night to fit your room for four people.
When pulled down, the bed features some pop art of Pluto dreaming of munching on bones.
The room is also home to a TV and a dresser with drawers and cabinet storage. In the corner, you’ll find shelving with a coffee maker and a mini-fridge.Â
In addition the coffee maker, this shelving has cups and a selection of Joffrey’s coffee, so you can grab and go on your way to the parks.
Here’s a glance at the room from the angle of the door. The bathroom is in the back of the room, and our room happens to connect to the one next door. Not all rooms at this resort are adjoining rooms, so if you need that, you’ll want to request it ahead of time.
Let’s get into the details of this room. There are hooks by the door to hang bags, coats, or ponchos to dry. They kind of look like the buttons on Mickey Mouse’s shorts!
There is also a safe in the dresser to hold any valuables while you’re out.
A display highlights all of the touch spots in our room where enhanced cleaning took place, as part of Disney’s commitment to heightened safety procedures. Our remote was sanitized and placed in a sealed plastic bag.
Let’s move into the bathroom! There’s a large mirror on the wall above the sink, as well as a smaller magnification mirror. We’ve got quite a bit of storage and shelving in here.
There’s a sliding door separating the toilet and shower from the sink area, which is convenient for multiple people getting ready at once. Our particular shower has a tub and a sliding door, as well as a movable shower head.Â
Inside the shower is a selection of Disney’s shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. These are refillable, reusable bottles.
These rooms were renovated a few years ago, and the features are definitely fancier than some of Disney’s older resort rooms.

Across the way, you can see the larger-than-life theming of the buildings, along with a HUGE Roger Rabbit.

I have stayed here twice. I don’t much care for the exterior of the resort, but I do love the midmod feel of the rooms. And the preferred rooms are sooo worth it if you love the skyliner!! Last time we were on the ground floor, 2 rooms in from the end of building near the skyliner station. It was SO convenient!!

Stayed in May 2019. LOVED IT! Enjoyed walks each moring around Hourglass Lake. I enjoyed having the table and chairs. Room was brand new and pristine. Would stay here again for sure. Like the laundry area. Packed four days of clothes and did laundry. Worked out perfectly for my eight day trip.

Pop Century is our favorite Value Resort always in a preferred room.
We really enjoy all aspects of the resort. Especially the bus service directly to the resort from the theme parks.
Can’t wait for trip in September.

Hello neighbor! We checked in here Jan 31st and are staying in the 60’s section with a hippy dippy pool view. It’s actually not bad here at all.

Where’s the storage for a 2/3 week visitor? Or are we expected to live out of suitcases??
Jill says
Looks like the rooms are missing a microwave. So it seems that taking microwave goodies, like popcorn, will be a waste of luggage space.
DFB Sarah says
Jill, you’re correct that there is no microwave in the Pop Century rooms. You would have to head to Everything Pop’s food court to use the microwaves there.

We LOVE the Pop! We’ve stayed there 6 times. Last year would have been 7 if WDW had not closed the night before we were to leave. We loved the refurbished rooms. Preferred is the way to go; better view, and closer to the food court! Fun family activities like movies under the stars, and now close to the Skyliner!

One year ago we stayed at the Pop, they really did a great job on the rooms, having the skyliner is a big plus.
We’ve stayed at the Pop every time we visit Disney World.

We were at 80’s Pop. Just the two of us. Comfortable room, lots of outlets for all your charging. Water pressure was okay — not as strong as I’d like, but okay for a large resort. Stayed 4 nights. We brought some extra instant coffee. Should have asked for extra coffee, as room was cleaned every other day. Bought something for breakfast the night before, taking advantage of the fridge. On third floor, no special view but fine. Quiet.
We were there for the Parks, after all. We only ate one meal there on our first night. Nice selection. My meal was better than expected. I’d recommend Pop Century. Wish there was more seating outside — a complaint I’d share with the Parks.
