As part of the EPCOT Transformation, we’ve already seen a new fountain in the park’s entrance, lots of construction basically ALL OVER the park, some parts of the new nighttime spectacular, and more!
But now, it’s time for something old that is new again. Today, EPCOT’s entrance is looking VERY different because Leave A Legacy has returned!
Earlier today, Disney shared a peek at the return of Leave A Legacy. So, we quickly made our way over to EPCOT to see this redesigned feature for ourselves!
The Leave A Legacy monoliths used to welcome guests as they entered EPCOT. Guests used to be able to buy a spot on these monoliths and have the chance to get their photos etched into the panels there. One of the best parts was coming back to EPCOT year after year to search for your photo and show it off to all of your friends and family. Even some famous celebrities like *NSYNC had their own spot on these panels.
As part of the EPCOT Transformation, EPCOT’s entrance is being redesigned and part of that involved the removal of those Leave A Legacy monoliths. But, Disney shared that Leave A Legacy would not be gone forever. Instead, Leave A Legacy would move to a new spot in front of the park entrance, and now the NEW Leave A Legacy display has opened!
Disney didn’t just move the existing monoliths to the park entrance though. Leave A Legacy has been beautifully reimagined.
The photos are now displayed on colorful, new panels. The colors used match the hues of EPCOT’s new color palette.
The new Leave A Legacy display is installed in the front of the park, before the spot where guests scan their tickets or MagicBands to enter the park.
So far, only one part of the new Leave A Legacy display has been installed, but Imagineer Zach Riddley has shared that the remaining parts should be installed this week.
You can see the panels have numbers on the top to help guests find their photos. If you’re looking for your spot in these new Leave A Legacy tiles, you can use your phone or another smart device to scan a QR code there. Your smart device will then up a tile finder search feature. You can use this to get the coordinates to a specific tile location.
If you need any other assistance, you can also ask the EPCOT Guest Relations team for assistance. The biggest issue with these will be the heigh. These walls are high, so if your picture is at the top, you’re going to have a hard time seeing it.
We’ll definitely keep an eye out for updates regarding the installation of the other panels and let you know what we see. Stay tuned for more updates!

Melanie Durham says
Do you happen to know if we are able to purchase new tiles on the leave a legacy walls now? I would love to do this with my family!
Janet says
I’m glad Disney made things so colorful. I’m definitely looking forward to finding my family’s new tiles during a future vacation. Thanks for the information and the pretty photos!
DFB Sarah says
Melanie, we have not seen a way to purchase new ones. If they do ever add this feature, we’ll report on it.
bex says
it’s like they looked at the colorful construction walls and thought to themselves that they wanted them there permanently
Disappointed Disney Fan says
As beautiful as these new walls look I found that with their redesign Disney neglected to keep titles together when family members were originally side by side on the old walls. Now our pictures are in the same section but 17 rows apart! This is upsetting as we have been together since 1999.
Liz says
Is this to the right or left before the entrance. Also do you remember how many panels are there??
DFB Sarah says
Liz, I’m not sure how many panels; I’ll check with a reporter. But the panels are on the east/left side before the touchpoints.
