Disney World may be in a phased reopening from the closures in 2020, but there’s a full lineup of new dining locations across the resort on deck for 2021! In fact, a couple of those locations have already opened, with more (hopefully!) on the way!
If you’re heading to Disney World in 2021 and you want to experience the latest and greatest in dining, we got you covered. Today, we’re ONLY chatting about restaurants that have opened or are scheduled to open sometime in 2021.
Gideon’s Bakehouse
The first new dining option to arrive in Disney World in 2021 is Gideon’s Bakehouse! And boy, did they set the bar HIGH for new dining in 2021 at Disney World. This truly sweet spot opened in Disney Springs on January 16th after a soft opening in late December. This shop is already famous in the Orlando area for their nearly half-pound cookies, so when a Disney Springs location was announced, we were counting down the days to their grand opening!
Before we even get to talk about the cookies, we have to go over Gideon’s Bakehouse’s incredible backstory. Tale has it that during the construction of the shop unveiled a small gap in a brick wall that contained a vintage ledger and an old daguerreotype of Gideon’s owner, Jonathan Lindwurm. Lindwurm was known to be a “purveyor of rare books and antiquities,” and sold his oddities in his shop. When you visit the Bakehouse, you’ll spot some of those remnants that Lindwurm curated!
As you approach Gideon’s Bakehouse, you’ll notice a gargoyle perched atop the building. He is known as Gideon’s Guardian and has a name that’s rather difficult to pronounce. He’s active on social media — go find him on Instagram! He keeps a pretty quiet and private life, but he’ll give you a follow back on Instagram IF and only if you pronounce his name correctly. Send an audio clip of your guess at what the pronunciation is to his account and if he follows you back, it means you succeeded!
Oh, right, we have to talk about the COOKIES! This place is super neat and we haven’t even gotten to talking about their menu yet. The menu at Gideon’s has a rotating selection of regular cookies as well as limited-time cookies. In addition to their cookies, Gideon’s serves up a daily selection of cake slices and specialty coffees.
If you’re looking to try their most exclusive menu offerings, check out their Cookie of the Month! February’s cookie was the Eternal Flame, and we can’t wait for the Frankenstein cookie to return in October! Keep in mind that no matter which cookies you want to enjoy, there is currently a purchase limit of six cookies.
And we HAVE to talk about their Hot Cookie Hour! Hot Cookie Hour takes place daily from 7PM-8PM and includes their signature Chocolate Chip Cookie served WARM topped with a scoop of ice cream for $10. We didn’t think there was a way their cookies could get any better, but they went ahead and proved us wrong!
Needless to say, Gideon’s Bakehouse is a popular spot right now in Disney Springs so expect a virtual queue when you arrive. The virtual queue CLOSES at 7PM each night (we’ve seen it close a little bit earlier if it’s REALLY crowded), so you have to make sure you get in the queue before then!
All in all, Gideon’s is a good value when you consider how big the portion sizes are! These cookies are positively massive, making them worth the six dollars you’ll pay for each of them.
If you’re planning a trip to Disney World this year and wish to visit Gideon’s Bakehouse, we HIGHLY suggest you give them a follow on Instagram. Waits can be lengthy to get into this cookie hot-spot so plan ahead if this is a must-do for you. They’re very pro-active on social media when providing updates regarding what flavors are available and in stock! Keep in mind that you can also pre-order cookies at their other Orlando location (unfortunately pre-orders are NOT available in Disney Springs at this time) if you want to take a bunch home (they freeze really well!).

Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew
If your sweet tooth wasn’t satisfied after visiting Gideon’s Bakehouse, just take a short walk around Disney Springs over to our next new dining location for 2021, Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew!
This is like the Gideon’s of donuts. This shop serves up some BIG donuts, sandwiches, and coffees, as well as loaded french fries and beer!
Seasonal selections are available as well! Some of the specialty donuts/drink combos we’ve tasted include the Strawberry and Strawberry My Chai, Purple Reign tea with Purple Ube Donut, and the Peanut Butter Explosion Donut (on top of a Reese’s Cold Brew, naturally).
Another favorite of ours has been their Grilled Cheese on a Glazed Donut!!! In fact, you can get ANY of their sandwiches on a donut. Be sure to give our Cheesy Bacon Donut hack a try!
In terms of pricing, their donuts are a little on the expensive side ($4.50-$5.50 on average) but they’re definitely large enough to share! And while the colors and font at Everglazed might remind you of a certain national donut and coffee chain, Everglazed is actually owned by the same folks that own Splitsville!

La Crêperie de Paris
The next new restaurant in Disney World for 2021 should be opening very soon! La Crêperie de Paris is part of the France Pavilion expansion in EPCOT, opening alongside Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
La Crêperie de Paris will be both a table service restaurant and counter service window! The menu at the counter service portion will include both sweet and savory crêpes to go. This combination table and counter service location should offer food at various price points so no matter what your dining budget is, you should be able to enjoy this new spot!

Space 220
Hey, remember Space 220? Yes, THAT Space 220 — the Space 220 that was originally scheduled to open way back in 2019! It now looks like EPCOT’s upcoming table service restaurant is part of the 2021 roster, but we’ll be honest, we’ll have a hard time believing it until we’re sitting down at a table ourselves!
The road to a Space 220 opening has been long and winding. In the last couple of years during construction, they lost their executive chef, and, of course, they faced significant construction setbacks from the closures. It’s safe to say we wondered if Space 220 would EVER open!
There are plenty of reasons to cross our fingers EXTRA tight that we can experience Space 220 this year. To enter the restaurant, guests take an elevator simulating a rocket launch, taking them 220 miles above Earth to the Centauri Space Station. Once guests arrive, they’ll find themselves surrounded by large screen panels acting as windows, giving guests a view of outer space in a spaceship-themed dining room.
When it comes to the menu, what we know right now is that we’ll be able to enjoy international-inspired cuisine, with more than 1,000 bottles of the world’s finest wines and a wide selection of craft beer (not to mention nifty space-themed cocktails!).
We’re expecting this to be an…out of this world dining experience (sorry, had to do it!), but we won’t know more until we see a menu and learn more about its opening date! Our fingers are crossed super tight in the hopes that by this time NEXT year, we’re actually talking about how much we love to eat at Space 220 instead of wondering if we’ll EVER get to dine here!

Roundup Rodeo BBQ
Coming to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Roundup Rodeo BBQ, a much-needed table service restaurant for the land (and the park as a whole!).
The story behind the restaurant is that guests are dining in a toy rodeo arena created by Andy in his backyard. Diners will be seated inside playsets of a Western town, complete with blocks, fun lighting, and more! The menu, as the name implies, will be filled with barbecue fare. Definitely expect the ultimate family-friendly atmosphere!
We got a glimpse beyond the construction walls recently, so work is underway. However, at this time we don’t have an opening timeline.

The Sublight Lounge
When the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser opens (aka the “Star Wars Hotel”), we’re expecting some pretty out-of-this-world dining options. At this time not much has been shared about exactly what food offerings will be a part of this multi-night immersive experience. What we DO know, however, is that the Galactic Starcruiser (called the Halcyon) is where you’ll find Silver C Lounge. [EDITOR’S UPDATE 5/4/21: Please note that a name change has been announced since this post was originally published, and the Silver C Lounge is now called The Sublight Lounge. Additionally, the Crown of Corellia Dining Room has also been announced for the Starcruiser!]
What do we know about Silver C Lounge? As of this writing, not a whole lot! It will be a stylish lounge where guests can relax and grab a drink, and perhaps a light bite or two…and not much is known beyond those details! We’re awaiting more news on an opening timeline for the Galactic Starcruiser. And like we mentioned before, there will likely be MORE dining at the hotel than just Silver C Lounge (perhaps the dinner show that was nixed from Galaxy’s Edge?)…but Disney has been mum on this!

Dining Coming to the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve
In addition to the Galactic Starcruiser, we are also awaiting the grand opening of the new Swan & Dolphin property known as the “Walt Disney World Swan Reserve.” Opening this summer, their website mentions that the hotel will offer a “signature Mediterranean restaurant” as well as a Grab-n-Go Cafe.
There are several great signature dining options currently available at Swan & Dolphin, including Il Mulino, bluezoo, and Shula’s. Not many details are known at this time concerning what the menu could look like, so we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled in the coming months!
Reservations are available now for the Swan Reserve! Click here for more info.
That’s the Disney World Restaurant Class of 2021! We could very well hear about MORE dining options coming to Disney World before the year is through (especially if we learn more about the Galactic Starcruiser’s dining options), but 2021 is already lined up to be a standout year for new dining options across Disney World. Be sure to check back often as we’re keeping a close watch on ALL of these dining locations. Due to the closures a lot of these locations were delayed or had their openings pushed back, but hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer!
