Can you believe it’s been an entire year since the Disney Cruise Line had its last sailing? As the CDC has continued to extend no-sail regulations and cruises were listed under a new Level 4 risk, the ships have been docked and quiet for some time.
Since then, the Disney Cruise Line has continued to extend its closure (currently through August this year) as passengers are given extended periods of time to use their credits to rebook sailings. Disney has started to look ahead to 2022 by scheduling upcoming departures, but there hasn’t been too much news on when the ships will actually start sailing again.
But, today’s Walt Disney Company Shareholder Meeting may have given us a clue about when the Disney Cruise Line could reopen again. Disney specifically stated that the Disney Cruise Line has been hard at work, updating its health and safety standards for the ships prior to their reopenings.
The CDC has already stated that passengers and crew will need to wear masks if they choose to travel onboard a cruise ship. As Disney prepares to list sailings again, they are “very anxious to get [their] Disney Cruise Line business back up and running.” Despite the fact that there is no official timeline regarding the reopening of the Disney Cruise Line, they are hopeful that with “luck and trends,” the cruise ships may be able to open with limited operations this Fall according to Bob Chapek.
On top of the health and safety standards on the current ships, the Disney Cruise Line has been moving forward with construction on the new “Wish” ship as well. When the Disney Wish debuts, it will use liquid natural gas. And, the following two Disney Cruise Line ships will do the same!

Disney cruises maybe sailing this fall sounds great if it’s true . If everyone waits in till it is 100% it might take 3 to 4 years . It sounds like there might be practice sailings to see how it goes . If everyone gets the vaccine ,mask wearing , stay away . It might be the new normal . CDC we all have to wait and see what is the best way of going on vacation .

The ships are being cleaned. People are getting the vaccine. Its time to cruise. Disney needs to be aggressive and do a simulated voyage. If Disney can dream it Disney can do it.
