Bright Suns, DFB friends!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios boasts some pretty unique (and tasty) eats and drinks. Besides the fact that you can eat your meal with the COOLEST utensil on the planet (of Batuu, of course), you can also find an assortment of eats like Blue Milk and the popular Ronto Wrap. And, when Disney shared that they would be adding TWO new versions of the Ronto Wrap to the menu, we knew we had to head over to give it a try!
The menu at Ronto Roasters now features two new takes on the wrap — one for breakfast and one for lunch and dinner. Here’s the kicker — they’re both vegan. We stopped by early in the day to give the new Triple Suns Breakfast Wrap a try!
The wrap is made with plant-based “egg,” smoky chickpea onion slaw, and roasted tomato sauce wrapped in a warm pita. And, this wrap packs a bit of a SPICY punch! We thought that it almost has a curry taste to the spice, rather than a “burn your tongue, it’s so spicy” spice. We think lots of people could enjoy this level of heat, but if you’re totally averse to spice, maybe steer clear.
Other than the spice, there are a lot of different flavors going on when you bite into the wrap. But, what we enjoyed most was the smoky chickpea onion slaw. We could eat a whole TUB of that with just the pita bread and be happy!
The plant-based eggs weren’t as good as we were hoping, though they certainly didn’t prevent us from devouring the entire wrap in one sitting. They do kind of mix in with all the other fillings, so they’re certainly not the star of the show. And, speaking of eating the whole thing, this is definitely a breakfast for those who are hungry. The serving size is on the larger end and all the ingredients made for one filling meal. Truthfully, most Ronto Wrap options can be easily shared if you’re not ravenous.
Overall, we think that this will be a winner for those looking for a filling plant-based option. Would we pick it over the regular morning wrap (that’s basically a regular Ronto Wrap with an egg omelet instead of slaw and sliced pork)? Probably not. It’s good, but the original still takes the advantage here. If you’re thinking of giving this new wrap a try, you can find it on the menu in the mornings for $11.49.
If you’re not a fan of heavily spiced foods you probably won’t enjoy this new wrap as much as others. Also, don’t let the words “plant-based” deter you. It still tastes really good. That said, we also really enjoyed the new Zuchii wrap we tried recently. If you’ve got your heart set on a plant-based wrap, we suggest waiting til lunchtime to grab that one. The grilled veggies there are topped with the same chickpea goodness as this one and the whole thing was really flavorful!
