Have you visited Disney World’s flagship park in a while?
We positively love strolling the streets of Magic Kingdom, especially when that means we get to look for news to tell YOU. Sometimes, that means braving some pretty wild weather, but we’ve still got all the latest news from the park!
Before we dive into the latest news, we wanted to give you a peek at what a “Severe Weather Warning” day looks like in the Magic Kingdom. Sunday was a STORMY day in Orlando, and Disney World was no exception.
When the rain really picked up, almost all of the attractions went down save for a few. We noticed that guests were flocking out of the park as the weather got worse and Tomorrowland and Liberty Square both had a significant amount of water on the ground.
If you have to contend with severe weather during your Disney trip, you might want to take a look at some of our important tips.

Magic Kingdom Construction Updates
Cinderella Castle
Now, let’s talk about some construction updates! Cinderella Castle had a handful of new swirl decorations added over the course of the last few days.
This is, of course, in preparation for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations!

PhotoPass
As you have probably heard, Disney made a MAJOR change to the face mask policy recently. Now, guests ARE permitted to remove their masks for photos when they are stationary and physically distanced. This didn’t use to be the case.
This policy has been in effect for a few days and on one trip, we noticed that some of the mask stickers had been removed from the ground near PhotoPass spots.

Frontierland
During one of our visits, we spotted that Splash Mountain was being evacuated!
We’re not sure what caused the evacuation, but the ride has been back up and running since.

Tomorrowland
Though the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover’s reopening continues to get delayed, we did spot that the attraction was moving on a recent visit.
It has been testing for several months, giving us hope that we’ll be cruising through Tomorrowland soon.

We also made sure to check in on the current paintwork taking place at the Cool Ship snack stand.
