It’s been over one year, but today, tickets for the reopening of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure went on sale!
As we probably should have expected, demand for these tickets is HIGH, leading to long wait times in a virtual queue. Earlier today, we even wondered: WHO is getting through on Disneyland’s website?!
If the goat from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is now your mortal enemy, you’re not alone.
In fact, Disneyland has now added a NEW message reminding guests about the high demand for tickets, and telling them to stay patient. (And no matter what you do, not to refresh the page!)
The message, posted at 4:02PM PT says “We are experiencing high demand given the historic nature of the Disneyland Resort’s reopening. To deliver a strong Guest experience, we are deliberately pulsing Guests through the system and, therefore, wait times may be several hours or more depending on when you joined the queue. We still have plenty of reservation availability, and we plan to keep the system open throughout the night to accommodate the demand. Please don’t refresh and we will get you through the queue as soon as we can. We know you are just as excited to return to the Disneyland Resort as we are to welcome you back, and we thank you for your patience as we work to accommodate as many Guests as possible.”
So, if you’re in line, just stay patient and vigilant! You’ll get your tickets EVENTUALLY! And when we have more advice for getting Disneyland tickets, we’ll let you know the process!

If waiting to purchase tickets is too stressful, Costco and Sam’s Club are both selling multi-day tickets (both single park and park hopping). You’ll get your tix via email and can easily link them through the Disneyland app to your Disney account. Then it’s just a matter of waiting in the Reservation virtual queue, which took me about 3 hours. Hope this helps.

We opened the site on our phone at 7:30am and just left it open in a window. We saw at about 3:00pm that it moved from over an hour wait to less than 50min. About 50 min later it let us purchase tickets and make reservations. It really was all about just being patient and not refreshing the window.
