Disney’s a fun place to be, but there are a few unspoken rules to keep in mind.
Some of ’em will actually really help you out on your vacation — they’re like little insider tidbits! But others are about…you know…common courtesy. And in the past, we’ve spotted a great example of what NOT to do while at Disney World.
The Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. is one of the busiest stores in the parks. They sell just about every kind of Disney merch you could ever want, and TONS of people are in and out on the daily. So we get it: crowds = messes. It’s a given! But one time, while we were browsing the ears section, we noticed something that made us a little sad.
Spotted it yet? Someone apparently tried on just about every pair of ears in stock and then just left them. They didn’t even bother to put them away! Please. Don’t be this person in Disney World.
It takes an extra few seconds to clean up after yourself, and it really contributes to the parks staying nice and spiffy! Cast Members already do so much, so don’t go out of your way to make their jobs harder. Just keep common decency in mind when you’re at Disney World and we’ll all be good! And whatever you do…DON’T be this person.

I’m not sure about ears, but I purchased sun glasses in the magic kingdom and there were bins where they asked us to leave the pairs we tried on to be sanitized.

Right now, this is what many shops around my local area actually advise due to COVID. It means they can either take them off sale for a few days for quarantining/clean the packaging. In normal times I understand, but right now, it might be that they were saying “Look, I’ve touched these….” etc.

Thanks for the perspective, Todd. 🙂

Just like so many other areas of society – htere is a lowering of expectations and personal responsibility??? Have you ever looked at a dressing room in a department store? Sad the manners some folks have. However, I will give the benefit of doubt and hope in this instance the person was concerned about Covid. wink wink

How about all the people that stalk the website and immediately buy up the maximum number of some highly anticipated merchandise the instant it comes out, to turn right around and put it on EBay for an insane mark-up. Those people are the worst. If you don’t want it, don’t buy it. Leave it for people who do!

I was recently at the Contemporary gift shop and a woman picked up and looked at every magnet in a basket. I wanted to buy one but did not want to wait any longer. Signs say to try and not touch things so much and yet she stood there and picked up each magnet in the basket and looked at them one at a time.

I don’t think someone dumped those ears in a pile like that trying to be “considerate” to others
Tanya says
EVERYONE should have to do a stint in retail. They then would appreciate that this a just a headache and rude to the workers.

As a current CM, I appreciate you making people aware of things like this. I sometimes have to clean up the dressing room with unwanted clothes and a myriad of hangers left behind. We’re not your mother or your servant. Please be considerate.

Like the PIGS, that eat at restaurants! Make a complete mess at the tables and on the floor around them, making no effort to clean up after themselves. I hate to think what they do do at home and or what their homes look like!
