When you’re visiting Disney World, it’s easy to reach for the Minnie Ears, the balloons, or other classic souvenirs. But, what if you’re looking for something more unique to remember your vacation?
Well, over in EPCOT, we’ve found some of the coolest (and weirdest) souvenirs that you can get in Disney World! We have seen a literal unicorn MERMAID at House of Good Fortune, and the Mitsukoshi Department Store is where you can find non-Disney items like Animal Crossing backpacks and plushes and color-changing shirts. But, if you thought that was as unique as merchandise gets in Disney, you’re wrong. Disney has OUTDONE themselves with the latest collection we found in the parks!
Recently, we spotted a new Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month display in House of Good Fortune in the China Pavilion. It’s full of unique artifacts and furniture that all tell a piece of the history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. And, it turns out the display isn’t just for looks, you can actually BUY the items!
But, these unique collectibles are going to cost you…A LOT! And we mean it — the horse statue is priced at $498.
And, another unique display item is the Duan Ink Slab which is available for $395. There’s a lot of history behind the stone, as it was first made in Tang Dynasty back in 618-907 and was known for “not harming the brush.”
You can also full-on purchase the furniture from the display, like this intricately designed desk which will cost you $200…
…or the finely crafted chair with marble details for a whopping $1,800.
Pretty much the rest of the display is on sale too, so you can even take home the entire Cinnabar Cabinet, which features the traditional Chinese art of lacquer carving for $5,800 (!!). And, as for how to get it all home — when you purchase any of these items, you’ll arrange for them to be shipped home when you check out.
So, what do you think about doing your furniture shopping at Disney World? We bet you didn’t expect that! We’ll continue to keep an eye out for unique merchandise and bring you the latest Disney updates so stay tuned!
