Disney Cruises are still temporarily suspended, but Disney’s looking ahead with the grand reveal of its newest ship, the Disney Wish!
While we already knew some details about the Disney Wish — and even got a peek at some concept art! — today’s Once Upon a Disney Wish event gave us even more insight into the new ship! And boy do we have LOTS to share with you. So let’s get started!
When Will it Sail?
The Disney Wish will embark on its maiden voyage on June 9th, 2022! You’ll be able to book reservations starting on May 27th. Castaway Cay members, Disney Vacation Club members, and Adventure Insiders will get early access to booking. You can check out those dates below.
After the ship’s maiden voyage from June 9th-14th, you’ll be able to choose between a 3-night or 4-night Bahamian cruise.
Itineraries have been released through September 2022!

Restaurants
We’re ALL about food here at DFB, so of course, we’ve gotta talk about all the dining options onboard! And trust us, there are a LOT of ’em. To start, there are 3 restaurants for the whole family! The first is Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, which will transport guests to Anna and Kristoff’s engagement party (with plenty of live music!).
Elsa and Olaf are hosting a celebration and the catering is from Oaken’s “Hearty Party Planning Service…and Sauna.” Guests will also be able to join in on table crafts, singalongs, and a grand finale! On the dessert menu in honor of Anna, Disney says there will be chocolate!

You can also stop by Worlds of Marvel, an “ambitious dining experience” that puts YOU right in the middle of your very own superhero adventure!

There’s also 1923, inspired by The Walt Disney Company’s journey through animation. This spot’s got a laid-back Hollywood vibe, with plenty of props showing the history of Disney movies!

Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge is a watering hole for all ages during the day — but at night, it transforms into an adult-only experience. You’ll sip on Star Wars-inspired beverages as you’re transported around the galaxy with plenty of cool tech!

Grown-ups can also enjoy a suite of adult-only Beauty and the Beast-inspired dining experiences. You can grab a cocktail at The Rose…
…enjoy authentic Italian at Palo Steakhouse (inspired by Cogsworth!)…
…or sit down for an extravagant meal at Enchanté, featuring a gourmet menu by three-Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement. This spot is based off none other than the elegant Lumière!
Lastly, adults can head over to the Quiet Cove Pool District, where they can grab some sips at the open-air Cove Bar or enjoy specialty drinks and treats at the Moana-themed Cove Cafe!
As we receive more details about these restaurants — and as Disney announces any new ones! — we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.

Attractions
One of the biggest pieces of news we received about the Disney Wish was AquaMouse! This will be Disney’s first-ever attraction at sea, so it’s a HUGE deal. It’ll take guests straight into the world of animated Mickey Mouse shorts!
The water adventure will put guests in a 2-seater ride vehicle. Along the way, they’ll encounter sea creatures and other characters from the original story Scuba Scramble.
Altogether, the ride winds through 760 feet of tubes. WOW is that impressive! You can read ALL the details on this exciting new ride right here.

Just for Kids
A lot of those dining experiences we told ya about were just for grown-ups — but there are also activities just for kiddos! 3 kids’ clubs provide immersive experiences for all ages. In Disney’s Oceaneer Club, little ones ages 3-12 can visit the Marvel Super Hero Academy to make their own supersuit and train for greatness…
…visit Fairytale Hall to read with Belle, do art with Rapunzel, or …
…or visit the Imagineering Lab to design their own rollercoaster!
Meanwhile, It’s a Small World Nursery offers babysitting services for ages 6 months to 3 years. Tots can play games, make crafts, read books, and more!
Edge and Vibe are older-kid hangouts with counselor-led activities. Edge is for those ages 11-14, while Vibe is for teens 14-17.
These kids’ clubs sound AWESOME, and we kinda wish we were young enough to experience them. BRB, researching a way to go back in time.

Entertainment
What’s a Disney cruise without some entertainment?! Luckily, there’s plenty of that onboard, too. The classic Walt Disney Theatre is returning to the Disney Wish, with a Fantasia-inspired design that will make you feel like you’re in an enchanted forest! It’s a massive 1,274-seat theater with 3 decks, along with orchestra and balcony seating.
At this theatre, you’ll get to experience Disney’s Aladdin — A Musical Spectacular. We’ve seen this show on past ships, but it’ll be reimagined here! You’ll also be able to catch 2 NEW, original productions. Disney hasn’t specified more details on those yet, but we’ll let you know when they do!
There will also be 2 movie theaters, the Wonderland Cinema (inspired by Alice and Wonderland) and the Never Land Cinema (inspired by Peter Pan). You’ll be able to watch classic films as well as new movies here!
The Grand Hall of the Disney Wish will transform into an environmental theater, with a space that shifts from day to night…
…and it’ll also feature a balcony where you can greet characters from afar!
The Luna event space has a daytime setting of family fun, before transforming into an “elegant evening venue for adult-exclusive entertainment.” It’s inspired by the Disney and Pixar short La Luna! At night, the celestial theme will really pop in the luxurious atmosphere. You’ll even get to spot different characters from the short!
The Hero Zone is perfect for active family time, alternating “between an elaborate family obstacle course and a free-play sports hub.”
And lastly, there will be 10 pools and water play areas outside — including the Toy Story Splash Zone! That’ll feature the Slide-a-saurus Rex, the Trixie’s Falls wading pool, and a smoothie bar called Wheezy’s Freezies.
Near AquaMouse, there will also be a Mickey and friends-themed pool district, with six pools and Funnel Vision. Funnel Vision is a giant TV display that’ll screen Disney movies, live TV, and more!
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more details on all these spaces.

Characters
Of course, you’ll be able to meet plenty of Disney characters on board!
So far, Disney has announced that you can hang out with Mickey and Minnie; Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf from Frozen; super heroes Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man, and The Wasp; Rapunzel and Belle, and the Fairy Godmother!
Phew, that’s a lot of characters! There will be designated spaces around the ship for photo ops. You’ll also be able to rub shoulders with some of these characters through various experiences, like the Marvel Super Hero Academy!

Rooms
The Disney Wish will feature 1,254 staterooms! Of those, most will offer an ocean view, and 70% will have a spacious veranda. The rooms will have 3 different themes: Fairytales and Castle, Forest and Animals, and Enchanted by the Sea!
There will also be 76 total concierge staterooms and suites, and four royal suites. Two of those royal suites are 2 stories, featuring an elegant spiral staircase and a two-deck-high stained-glass frieze!
You can read more about all the different room offerings here!

Nelson says
There is a 3-day DVC members cruise aboard the Wish on June 14 2022. Point Charts for it will be released May 13 2021. Cash charts will be released on the 17th. It is mandatory that at least one member books with points (meaning there can be no fully cash parties). This is ironic to me because they are still capping most people’s point-borrowing power at 50% and member cruises are usually pricey point-wise so you must have a good chunk of base points and cash at hand to enjoy this experience because you will not be allowed to borrow your full amount of points.
Mr. John says
To Nelson I am a D V C Member also 50% what can you really do with this amount of points .No cruise studios possible at most resorts . Do you think Disney know what we can use it for our trips . We pay Maintenance on the amount how many point we bought . They want everyone to pay some money not points alone .Disney has some gimmick it cost if you are a member of not I hope thing change for your best .

Um…
1) isn’t Palo italian? And isn’t Cogsworth French?
2) I assume from the wide view of the ship that the AquaMouse is just the AquaDuck renamed.
3) you didn’t mention this in thr article, but one of the big announcements stated this ship will run on Liquid Natural Gas.
That’s all well and good. Except that LNG is a far less Energy filled fuel than gas. They will have to carry 35% more fuel to make up for the difference from gasoline to LNG.
Looks good to the environmentalist except when you realize 1) that it takes so much more fuel to power the ship. And 2) That franking is used to get the natural gas. Sooo. Yeah
DFB Sarah says
Brandon, interesting points. As for Cogsworth, he is French (we’re still talking about a personified clock, right?), so it’ll be interesting to see if that influence plays into the menu.
