Amidst the closures of the Disney Parks, the Disney College Program was temporarily suspended. The Disney College Program for Disney World and Disneyland were also canceled for the fall of 2020. And the future of the program was pretty uncertain for a while.
However, many things have been changing and returning to “normal” in Disney World. In March, Disney indicated that it was hoping to resume the College Program in 2021. And now we’ve finally got BIG Disney College Program news!!
Disney has announced that its College Program will resume in Disney World this JUNE!
According to Disney, “The Disney College Program has always been a source of optimism and pride for our company with participants who each bring new ideas, talents, and perspectives to the table. While that won’t change, we are evolving our Disney Programs to reflect the new world around us.”
Disney will be sending an email to anyone whose 2020 program was canceled or whose program ended early, and will be inviting them to come back. Today, May 3rd, those participants will receive exclusive communication via email about returning.
According to Disney, applying to the College Program will also be even easier now with “a simplified application process, a concierge team of recruiters you can engage with on social media, and year-long arrival dates.” Disney has also temporarily modified some of their eligibility requirements so that more people can still apply, even if they’ve already graduated.
Disney also shared that they’re “developing new ways for participants to shape their future careers, exploring a variety of roles and connecting with Disney professionals as they make magic.”
At the moment, only the Disney World College Program will be resuming. Disney has said “Right now, we’re focused on bringing the Disney College Program back to Walt Disney World Resort and will have more to share about Disney International Programs, Disney Culinary Program, and those at Disneyland® Resort later.” We’ll keep an eye out for any more details about those other programs.
All of the new College Program participants will be housed at the new Flamingo Crossings Village living complex. We did previously share how the Vista Way apartment complex — where some Disney College Program participants previously used to reside — is now being sold.
According to Disney, this complex has a variety of amenities including a resort-style pool, study areas, fitness facilities, and more.
Disney has also noted that they will be putting a variety of measures in place for their participants. According to Disney, “Participants will receive pre-arrival communication regarding [their] enhanced safety measures, including updates that promote physical distancing, required face coverings in all common areas, and a new contactless, curbside move-in experience.”
Disney will also be modifying the occupancy of their units, “giving fully vaccinated participants the opportunity to live with other fully vaccinated participants.”
Disney also shared how Disney Programs has a new look, particularly with their newly redesigned website. Disney has noted that this redesign is aimed at providing applicants with an easier way to learn about the Disney Programs and look for information based on their interests. So, if you’re interested in applying to one of Disney’s programs, now you can look at their newly redesigned site.
The return of Disney World’s College Program is VERY exciting news and will definitely be on the lookout for more details. As more information is released about how the Disney College Program will be operating moving forward, we’ll be sure to give you all the news you need to know. Stay tuned for more information!

YEAH for these kiddoes who make our time at WDW enjoyable. Time to increase capacity limits and return to normal as vaccines are widely available to ALL.
