We may have just ended “Celebrate Her Story” in Disney Springs, but Disney has announced that there will be all sorts of ways to commemorate your favorite heroines in a year-long Disney Princess celebration!
And, with the start of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month comes another month of celebrations in Disney Springs. Today, Disney Springs kicked off the month with some brand new snacks including Korean BBQ Fries, and two sweet treats that we got to try!
Amorette’s Patisserie has been home to all sorts of goodies inspired by movies, characters, and attractions that Disney fans adore. We’ve seen Baby Yoda, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and even holiday snacks in the bakery case recently. But, we’re opting more towards dessert fit for royalty with the Jasmine Tea Cream Tart and Mulan Petit Cake!
The Jasmine Tea Cream Tart is layered with Jasmine Tea Cream, Lychee, Raspberry, & Passion Fruit Gelée, and a Butter Nut Cookie Crust. A chocolate swirl, fondant flower, and edible glitter garnish the top making it look super elegant!
While the appearance is beautiful, it was SUPER messy. The flavor wasn’t what we expected in the slightest bit since the cream was on the lighter side compared the thick layer of jelly in between.
Still, the tart itself was pretty sturdy since the cookie crust didn’t budge, even with all the cream and jelly. The crust’s flavor reminded us a lot of a buttery shortbread cookie that complemented the sweet and tart flavors from the rest of the Jasmine Tea Cream Tart.
Kids may opt for a different snack from the bakery since the jelly was the standout flavor, but adults can totally channel their inner kid-at-heart with this cutie for $9.
Amorette’s is also hosting the Mulan Petit Cake again! When the live-action Mulan film was released, the treat arrived on the scene a year ago, but we weren’t able to try it before the park closures. But, now the cake is back for Asian Pacific Heritage Month!
The petit cake is made with Matcha and Lemon Chiffon Cakes layered with Green Tea Simple Syrup, Ginger Honey Mousse, Lemon Curd, and Candied Ginger Crumbs.
We could taste notes of the green tea and ginger within the cake, but the most prominent flavor was the lemon. So, if you’re a fan of lemon treats, this one will be right up your alley! But, your kiddos may want to skip this one too, since the flavors are just a bit more sophisticated than the regular chocolate and vanilla they may be used to in Disney World.
Although the decorations were BEAUTIFUL, we think it would have been a bit more tasty with less or thinner fondant as it stood out against the soft cake. You can try the Mulan Petit Cake for yourself for $22 before snagging another Amorette’s goodie to take home for later!
We’ll be sure to give you a look at all the other treats you can find in Disney World soon! Stay tuned with DFB for the latest Disney eats, entertainment, and news you need to know!
We didn’t expect to feel caffeinated from the new cookie at Gideon’s Bakehouse!
