In March, Disney rolled out a brand-new technology.
At the Magic Kingdom entrance, facial recognition testing kicked off! Guests could choose to enter the park through a different line that allowed them to give this new feature a try. The testing was set to end on April 23rd but was subject to be extended — and sure enough, it stuck around a few more days. But now, we’ve got an update on the project’s status!
On our way into Magic Kingdom this morning, we noticed that the facial recognition line was gone!
The line had been converted back to a normal park entry lane…
…and all facial recognition signage had disappeared.
Now, Disney made it clear from the start that this was just temporary testing, so we expected it to disappear at some point. A Cast Member shared that it’s gone for now, but could be brought back depending on guest feedback and how well the technology actually worked. We’ll keep ya posted on that! But if you’re heading into Magic Kingdom soon, just keep in mind that this testing is no longer an option for you (at least for now). Stay tuned to DFB for more updates!

I am hoping it worked out. I was thinking along with the auto bag searcher that you walk though that they tested, it would greatly improve lines. It was amazing watching the videos of the bag scanner walk though (sorry dont know the real name)
