We’ve been so excited seeing all the restaurants and hotels reopening recently at Disney World! And other restaurants are busy adding new items to their menus and other changes!
Although Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort reopened last July without any characters, it eventually added characters in a modified way back to the dining experience there. But it was only open for breakfast.
We previously learned about Chef Mickey’s reopening for dinner, and the day has finally come — we were there to see what Chef Mickey had in store for us in the evening! Not a lot has changed since we last ate breakfast here — the seating arrangement is still the same. Tables and chairs are still socially distanced or marked off so that parties are not within 6 feet of each other.
Food
Dinner is all-you-care-to-enjoy family-style, so you can ask for more of anything and they will bring it to you!
We also perused the beverages menu, which includes cocktails, beer, and wine…
…and the Iced Coffees, Hot Chocolates, and Chef’s Specialties Drinks.
But of course, what we came here to do is eat! Like breakfast, the food is brought out to you and served to you directly. Rolls were brought out to us first…
…followed by three salads on the menu! The menu lists a Seasonal Composed Plant-based Salad, Chef Mickey’s Caesar, and Citrus-poached Baby Shrimp with Creamy Cilantro-Lime Broccoli Slaw, Greens, Avocado, and Tomato.
We grabbed some of the “Plated Signature Items,” including Potato Gnocchi…
…Roasted Garlic Gratin Potatoes (with a Mickey Parmesan Frico!)…
…and Plant-based Farro Wheat Fried Rice.
For Entrees, we got the Traditional Roasted Breast of Turkey with with Summer Succotash and Gravy.
We also checked out the Kids Platter.
Our dessert platter included a Mickey Mousse Dome, Apple Crumble Tart, Strawberry Cream Cake, and Chocolate Chip Cookies.
We’ll do a FULL review of Chef Mickey’s dinner soon, so stay tuned for that!
Characters
And of course, the Fab Five were all here to cheer on our eating in style! The first character we saw was Goofy. GAWRSH!

Now…the big question… the price…? You didn’t mention the price for adults and children…? If you blow up the page it is $ 55.00 for adults… outrageous… for a dinner that isn’t worth $20 bucks. Shameful.
Mr . JOHN says
I love Chef Mickeys at this time I would not want to go it would not be the same normal for my self . If things got more normal I would love to see the characters and be able to have a meal . I do not want to eat in any restaurants I do not feel that safe I am hoping thing get better everyday to have a normal environment.

Ronald says
Has Disney LOWERED lowered the prices for dinner at Chef Mickey because it is FAMILY STYLE and the characters ARE NOT MEET AND GREET?
DFB Sarah says
Ronald, not to my knowledge. When the restaurant first reopened without characters, the price was significantly lowered. Since characters were reintroduced, the prices went back up. Dinner is $55 for adults and $36 for kids.
