Let’s EXPLORE!
Atmosphere
Wilderness Lodge presents unique features like nowhere else on property in a setting that offers something Disney aptly describes as “rustic elegance.” The Lodge brings aspects of the Great Outdoors right indoors, starting with a “hot spring” off the center of the striking lobby.
The water elements both in and outdoors are truly remarkable.
These include the Fire Rock Geyser. Inspired by Yellowstone National Park’s Old Faithful, this unique Disney version sends water erupting 120 feet into the air!
There are many spots around the Lodge to relax by a roaring fire, from cozy nooks in little-known corners to the large gathering fireplace in the main lobby.
Even when it’s well over 90 degrees in the Florida heat, you’ll still feel compelled to curl up by the fire!
Dining
Guests at Wilderness Lodge have a wide array of dining options to enjoy, from Disney character dining to Quick Service restaurants to relaxing lounges, and beyond!
Character Dining
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White presents an impressive prix-fixe meal while guests can look forward to Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy stopping by throughout the dinner.
You can see our full review of this truly storied dining experience in our DFB YouTube Video!
Table Service Restaurants
A word of advice about Whispering Canyon Cafe: Don’t be fooled by the mention of “whispering…”
With a crew of wayward servers with their minds made up to make you laugh and all-you-can-eat down home grub served skillet-style (guests may also choose from a la carte selections), this Table Service restaurant is a great one to book for a casual good time!
Counter Service Dining
Serving quick and hearty eats for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, hungry guests can enjoy comfort food (along with grab-and-go selections) at Roaring Fork.
Geyser Point Bar & Grill blends two different dining styles (a Table Service Lounge and Quick Service via a walk-up counter) and two different menus.
The Quick Service counter serves up full entrees (like burgers, salads, chicken sandwiches, and more) and a few sweet bites. You’ll even find a Bison Bacon Cheeseburger on the menu!
Bars and Lounges
As mentioned above, Geyser Point Bar & Grill also offers a truly relaxing and charming lounge. You can enjoy the outdoor elements and grab some shade at the same time. The robust hors d’oeuvres menu (and the beautiful waterfront views) keep us coming back again and again!
Territory Lounge is another one of our favorite respites on Walt Disney World property, thanks to the cozy atmosphere (AND thanks to the Cheese Fondue!).

Let’s continue our tour around the Lodge…
Guest Rooms
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge features standard guest rooms with either 2 Queen Beds or 1 King Bed, as well as Club Level Rooms (including Deluxe Club Level). For standard rooms, guests may choose a Standard View, a Nature View, a Courtyard View, or a Nature Fireworks View.
Standard Guest Rooms
In June 2021, the Standard Rooms reopened with newly refurbished guest rooms. Below, we’re taking a look at a Standard Room with Two Queen Beds which can sleep up to 4 adults.
The rustic charm and touches surrounding the Resort extend to the guests rooms as well.
Features include a mini kitchenette area with a coffee maker.
A large TV is placed above a 6-drawer dresser.
A casual sitting area offers comfortable blue chairs, a small table, and a mirror.
And a spacious balcony provides a respite with two chairs and a small table in between.
The bathroom features a large mirror along with a small accent mirror.
Double sinks are a greatly appreciated feature by many families!
As is the case with many Disney World hotels, the shower area is separate from the sink area with a sliding pocket door (so more than one guest can get ready at once).
We have a complete tour pointing out all the details right here!

Studios and Disney Deluxe Villas
Studios or 1-, 2- and 3-Bedroom Disney Deluxe Villas are also an option, with the addition of Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek Villas. Villas feature a living room and fully-equipped kitchen, private bedrooms, a washer and dryer, and more.
Below we’re exploring a Deluxe Studio at Copper Creek Villas which can sleep up to 4 adults.
A Queen Bed features a wooden headboard and bright white sheets that pop against the dark color of the wood.
The “living room” is a cozy nook next to the bed with a sofa.
It extends out into a pull-out Queen-size bed for additional guests in your party.
The table also extends outward so you can place your shoes or souvenirs inside for safekeeping, or use the extended tabletop as needed.
The dressing area layout of the room comes with a small bench seat with a drawer, as well as a dresser with multiple compartments of various sizes.
Above the dresser, you can tune into Disney movies and cartoons on the flat-screen television. You can also find park hours as well as the weather forecast for the day.
There’s a dining area with a mini table and chairs across from the bed, so you can get your favorite food to-go for a night in.
The closet is stocked full of amenities such as extra pillows and blankets, a clothing iron, and plenty of hangers.
The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker.
Guests will also find silverware, towels, a can opener, cups, plates, dishwashing tools, and a supply of coffee and creamer.
More “hidden” storage is tucked inside a cabinet which pulls out to reveal additional drawers.
The bathroom features a vanity area with hanging light fixtures and a pull-out makeup mirror on the wall.
The bathroom comes with various amenities and products for guests to use, including a hairdryer, body lotion, and facial soap.
The neighboring separated area presents a shower and bathtub combination with a sliding glass door.
And, there’s one last special feature at the Copper Creek Villas that you don’t want to miss! The sliding doors open to an outdoor patio where you can sit and take in the fresh air and scenery, or perhaps enjoy a glass of wine.
If you’re interested in seeing more of the Copper Creek Studio, we have a detailed photo tour here!

Copper Creek Cabins right on the waterfront offer two bedrooms, a full kitchen with an island, and a private porch with a hot tub.
And, remember, 1-, 2-, and 3- Bedroom Disney Deluxe Villas are available for groups of various sizes (up to 12) as well! While these are Disney Vacation Club properties, guests needn’t be members to book the Villas.
Amenities, Activities, and Recreation
Guests can enjoy the spacious Copper Creek Springs Pool (complete with a waterslide) and the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool at the Boulder Ridge Villas. Each pool is accompanied by a whirlpool spa.
And the Front Desk will provide you with information about current Resort Activities which may include options like Movies Under the Stars, Pool Parties, evening Campfires, and additional activities for a nominal fee such as Arts and Crafts that you can take home.
You will also see signs alerting to the day’s and week’s activities around the Resort so you don’t miss any of the fun!
More opportunities for fun and fitness include the Buttons and Bells Arcade, Salon by the Springs, and the Sturdy Branches Health Club.
Additional recreation options include Boat rentals (such as pontoons and Sea Raycers), fishing excursions, bike rentals, and jogging trails.
In the evenings, guests can take in a viewing of the classic Electrical Water Pageant when it sails by on Seven Seas Lagoon!
The lights that create the Pageant’s bright and colorful sea creatures are coordinated with music, and you can check the My Disney Experience app or ask the front desk about showtimes and viewing areas at Wilderness Lodge.
Did you know that Wilderness Lodge boasts so many Hidden Mickeys that the Lodge hosts a Hidden Mickey Hunt? Simply stop by the front desk to request a Scavenger Hunt for an afternoon of self-guided family fun!
And something truly unique to Wilderness Lodge is the Carolwood Pacific Room.
Also called the “Iron Spike Room,” this cozy corner offers comfortable chairs, a fireplace, game tables, and more. But most importantly, this relaxing respite is home to two of the train cars from Walt Disney’s own backyard railroad!
Additional amenities for Resort guests include complimentary Wi-Fi, currency exchange, self-service laundry rooms, mail services, and online check-in.
