Socks. They are typically a solid gift to give to friends, family members, co-workers, perfect strangers, etc. Practically everyone wears and needs socks (unless you’re a barefoot/sandals kind of person, which is totally fair).
Disney Cat Socks
Sometimes you’ll find cute socks or ones with a unique pattern. But otherwise, they’re usually just…socks. They’re comfy, useful, and sometimes fun in terms of their design, but not really functional other than as socks (or cleaning rags). But what if we told you your socks could do SO MUCH MORE?!Â
Recently, one of our reporters made their way around Tatooine Traders in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and sent us some photos of these Chewbacca Socks WITH POCKETS(!!) and we couldn’t help but share. And yes, you read that right, socks…with pockets. Dresses have started to get pockets so it looks like socks were feeling a little left behind and decided to get in on the action.
We’ve seen some socks out there used for runners and things like that which can hold credit cards and a bit of cash, but these aren’t quite like that.
YUP. Socks. With. Pockets.
To be clear, these socks aren’t new. We actually first found them last year in Disney Springs, where they were FLYING off the shelves. Now, there seem to be more than enough in stock. Keep in mind these socks are youth sized, so you’ll just need to make sure they’ll fit your feet if you’re trying to get in on the socks-with-pockets trend.
Socks With Pockets Are the New Thing…Right?
Each of the socks has a little pocket on the side that snaps closed with a piece of velcro. You won’t exactly fit your phone in there though. These pockets are pretty small! But you could probably fit some coins or tokens, and/or maybe a small trinket in there.
Seriously…What Are You Supposed to Fit in There?!
Maybe you can stick a small piece of candy in there (wrapped, of course) or a sticker? We have a feeling kiddos will find ALL kinds of things to hide in their sock pockets!
The possibilities are ENDLESS (okay, well, maybe they’re not endless, but there are a few things you could do with them).
Socks With Pockets…Yay or Nay?
One thing that confused us though is that the pockets seem to be on the right-hand side for both socks. We would have expected the pockets to maybe be on the outsides for both feet, but it doesn’t look like that’s the case.
Now, we get that this is likely meant to represent Chewbacca’s bag from a design perspective, but we still think it’s interesting that Disney actually made the pocket functional. They could have just made it look like a bag without including any actual opening or space to store things. But, it’s a truly functioning (albeit small) pocket!
Hmmm…Interesting
