BIG news from Disneyland!
The parks have been open for almost a month now, and we’re getting excited for the opening of Avengers Campus (that’s less than 2 weeks away!). But today, we’ve got a HUGE update on who, exactly, is allowed inside the parks.
When Disneyland Resort first reopened, only California residents could visit the parks. In contrast, other theme parks — such as Universal Studios Hollywood — permitted out-of-state guests to visit, as long as they were fully vaccinated, in accordance to California’s regulations.
Now, though, Disneyland will open to out-of-state guests beginning June 15th! These visitors are not required to be vaccinated, but the State of California does recommend vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. Masks will still be required at all times, except when actively eating or drinking while stationary.
Those out-of-state guests can begin booking their trips now, but cannot enter the parks before June 15th. When booking your days in the Disneyland Resort theme parks, you should now be prompted with a screen like the one below which requires you to actively checkmark 2 boxes to acknowledge certain things. The first is about the terms & conditions and the COVID-19 liability waiver.
The second specifically asks the guest to confirm that if they’re visiting the Disneyland Resort theme parks before June 15th, 2021, they and each of their guests are California residents, and their party doesn’t contain more than 3 households. It also asks the guest to acknowledge that the State of California strongly recommends that guests be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering the theme parks.
We’ll be sure to keep ya posted as we learn even more about this change, so stay tuned to DFB!
